No no, it was abandoned because of the limitation and seeing as splitting it wasn't ideal.
So with a new engine they want to remake the whole thing into one singular version.
They always wanted to make a remake too so this is all coming together nicely.

That's...pretty much what I said, but in more words. The original game is as finished as it's going to get, but Zell wasn't happy with that end result and wanted to make it better.

For context the first remade animations of "FOGS R" where made while Zell was still working on the original vesion and a few versions of it where even released after it.
The first time the word remake was used can be found back at 2021, much sooner than the first Remake version came out, it was an ongoing project for all this time and only got interrupted to work on other projects .
If they didn't decided to transfer the project to a new engine those very same versions A and B would be the ones getting new builds. The original is by that logic an unfinished and abandoned project.
does anyone know where i can download the latest update? ive scrolled for a bit in the comments and either i am blind, stupid or this entire thread is where i find out i had undiagnosed schizophrenia lol

Each update is the month previous, so the next one will release at the end of this one (September) and be called such. August is the latest build.

You can literally tell in a recent discussion me you, and some other people had with cut content that Zell was going to add in at some point in the game, definitely not complete. The other giveaway is that little wolf girl, wherever she is, it's for the next area, and it's to let you know that area's not accessible yet.

we have 100% treasures, 100% capture rate, 100% map, 100% quests done, and 95% discovery rate (missing like one discovery dude I have no clue where that mf is but everything else is there)

Yes it is and I think the last bit is either the room where you wake up when you fail the Bar game, the Reading Elfs room or the guard post next to the white tiger boss.
um, no they are not? like, what do you mean the sprites are "traced"? the game has obviously a different pixel art style, as someone who loves FOBS, the gameplay is literally the same as FOBS, but the monster girls doesn't look anything like the monster girls in FOBS, so idk what do you mean with "traced"
