On the tree level, before the mushrooms, where there's a bunch of ants on the bottom level and 2 masked girls throwing rocks or something. Behind of the masked girl on the right side is a fake wall. The new area has the slug girl and the key.



The button to open the gate is underneath one of the alraunes. I found her by checking them for the one that's slightly slower/faster on her breathing. In my save, the third from the button is the one. IDK if it's random, but you never know. Capture her and you're golden.

I think that was part of the story as it is called "forbidden lab" for a reason.
Horrible experiments are conducted there with possible ties to all the "testers" being clones of an original hero bloodline from the ancient times.
With other experiments going over lust and sexuality but on the levels of mutations and disfigurement that, if found out by the outside, would definetly be forcefully stopped.

Yes we don't really want to see some of those scenes (green portal) it does serve to show what twisted things are going on in this place shut off from the outside.
Besides, you can skip everything by giving up to quickly end the scene and/or resetting the stage when you fully drain your life bar.

I otherwise agree with your sentiment about the Ansala/Zell games.

Isn't the dream key the black cube? IIRC, you find it in the tree map, past the giant slug. You need the kappa skill to access it.

After a bit of research and replaying I found this:
Go to the Big Tree. (if you unlocked the portal to it even better)
Keep moving through until you reach a room with a girl coming out of the ground.
Pass the 2 Mushrooms under her and you should find a block that isn't textured like the rest of the place.
Stand on it and you can use it like a regular door/portal by pressing up.
Get past the slug and equip the Kappy/turtle girl skill/ability to get through the gap.

I thinks there's a limit, I think Poring crossed it with the lab, I don't mind seeing things that I'm not into but the whole reverse unbirth anal vore transformed into a fury, the rest of the game is fine, the rest of the lab is fine as a matter of fact, that shit was just plain weird.

He got called out for that, rightfully so, I understand that the whole Steam happenings with him and the pain that he had to deal with made him... peculiar but he got better... well on paper at least, let's be real the Church level was rushed and unpolished and the boss at the very end clearly overtuned (took me 11 times to clear her and I'm an Ikaruga speed runner)

Hey at least I'm not alone sharing that sentiment, it's clearly rough out there if you like horror eroge that still cater to "vanilla" enjoyers, I even tried Carcass lately but there's a lot of weird shit in it...

So the "rushed parts" are more way to at least give the game a proper ending and not just leave it canceled in development hell.
They also said that the cut stuff will return in future games!

At the end of the bar mini game she is basically asking you for dick.
