well, it's not. I draw all my sprites by hand in asprite :)
I don't get the idea behind the game can you enlight us?
Like do you think you can dev faster and better than the one behind https://f95zone.to/threads/snapshot-v0941-tiny-secret-games.243185/?
I mean it's obvious by looking at just menu and picture you copy it. And i'm not gotta attack you on it i don't care but i'm kinda curious about what you expect to do more or if it's jsut a way to win a bit of money for you cause you felt like it was an easy game to copy.

It's similar to snapshot but definitely not a copy. I'm working to separate myself as much as possible. I am constantly adding new elements that have nothing to do with snapshot and hope to continue until this comparison isn't made anymore.

Developer, don't pay too much attention to the detractors - this has the bones of becoming a good game. I like the art style and core gameplay.

I also disagree with reducing this game as a bug-filled copy of Snapshot. Two games can have the same base concept that is as generic as "take voyeur pics" and not be copies of one another. This game does a lot more than Snapshot. For one thing, this one has no AI art which is great. Then there's the day/night cycle, curfew, and homebase.

Having said that, there are a few bugs. I played this game for an hour and change, got to day 17 or so. The time indicator in the top right was going haywire for me from the get go and that never changed - not great. The email system also started duplicating emails and deleting them didn't work (they just returned when I reopened the email inbox). Also, I'm not 100% on this but I'm reasonably sure that the rent was automatically deducted even after I paid the bill manually.

Some other things that annoyed me or just remarks in general:
- the slow walking speed. Just a little bit faster would be nice.
- short stamina for the running speed. You can barely run from one end of your own room to the other without the stamina running out. (Running with the upgrades did feel a lot better.)
- related to the previous 2 points: Going around the map is very tedious, especially in the beginning when you have to return to home every 2 photos.
- It would be nice to have some indication that you've taken a photo that you can sell to one of the shady buyers on the street. (Maybe even just changing the indicator above the shady buyer from a ? to a ! when you have a picture in your inventory could work. Or maybe that's already in the game and I didn't pay attention lol)
- collission on objects like trees and benches feels very wide, you get stuck on that stuff way too easy
- the minigame needs a tutorial. The first 3 times I pressed start I immediately tried to move the mouse into the box and auto-failed because I'd accidentally hit the wall. It's not a difficult minigame (it's a good minigame in fact) but it's a little confusing where your mouse is the first time.

So yeah overall it shows promise but it's still very barebones.

just as a heads up: if you want to report bugs / send longer feedback, please post it on the Discord!
I think you should make it more clear for windows, that if you stand right in front, you'll get caught.
At least I think that's what's happening, it's unclear.

Love the game btw, very charming <3

The easiest way to avoid the comparison is to avoid copying the game it's being compared to. Not even going to give this a chance as it stands.

Hey Pink, or I guess anyone else, any advise on getting the game to launch? I launch the exe and get a framed unity window with an exclamation point it disappears and nothing. Task manager shows no game process running. Now this pc is an old windows 10 machine that resembles a high end abacus with an obsolete graphics card so that may be contributing.

This has potential to be a different experience from Snapshot.

As said before, there are some things to have a look at.
Like the slow walking speed, the very short stamina, and also the extremely low payout for the beginning pictures (come on...$2 for a picture?)

Hmm, I have not heard that anybody else has had that issue yet. Did you download it here or on itch? What DirectX version does your graphics card support?

The idea is to improve by buying upgrades. I agree that it has a slow start, but you get exponentially more money as time goes on. I can understand that the start might be too slow though. I can increase the walking speed :)

I do agree that there is a growth path to take, I think that would improve a lot with an increased walking speed so it feels faster to play.
Also, a map would be great to find the shops or your way home (or have I missed an upgrade purchase?)

From here, the pixeldrain link. I can try another and see if there is any difference.

Update: Tried the mega link and overwrote everything for no difference. Watched the launch more carefully and observed the green bar made it about 1/3 or 1/4 of the way before the launch window went away.

Update to the Update: The graphics card is a radeon 8610G that supports DirectX 11.2

No, that is not supposed to be happening. I will look into it.
I assumed it was intended when it happened twice, but after looking into it more, it doesn't seem to be relevant where you stand. I'm unsure why I sometimes just get caught even when there's no indication that I can get caught in windows.
Perhaps I just missed the text that explained it.
