Misinformation is so bad nowadays that people throw words like "Copied-right-in-fridge-mints" around without actually knowing what it means. I partly blame Nintendo for this.as long as the resources used aren't breaking copyright law, it doesn't matter. you cannot copyright an idea or system, meaning a game that has animatronic animal characters roaming around an establishment outside of hours of operation isn't something that can be copyright protected on concept alone. now if they were using the exact same expression of the idea, THEN it would be a violation. furthermore, if you could copyright the very concept of a restaurant with animatronic characters on stage, scott would owe royalties.
very well put, thank you~Misinformation is so bad nowadays that people throw words like "Copied-right-in-fridge-mints" around without actually knowing what it means. I partly blame Nintendo for this.
For those of you confused about what rashka41 is saying, this can't be copyright strike because:
It doesn't use copyright characters, it uses a parody of them.
They look nothing like the original characters, and the model creator allow free use of said models.
They have completely different names.
Concepts can't be copyright protected, go ask Nintendo and Sega how that worked for them when someone didn't back down to their lawyers.
Therefore this game falls under Fair Use.
Can it get booted from Steam, sure? It's unlikely, but it's very possible. And if it does, copyright will not be the reason for so.
I never talked about copyright I just stated an opinion, The amount of variables for both sides with this sort of thing is immeasurable and a pain.very well put, thank you~
though, tbh, the gameplay, visuals, models, names, etc. are all unique enough that even without arguing parody, and given it doesn't use names or titles that infringe trademark, it would be considered a legally distinct game from the FNAF series that a lawsuit would not pass under US copyright law in particular, with the fair use laws being an extra layer of protection the game has. Steam's TOS no longer forbids adult sexual content on their platform and thus the number of possible infringements that would get this game kicked off the platform are quite low for anyone who may have been wondering.
From what I read from the Patreon post the Steam version is 100% complete which would explain the price.lmao at asking $15 for this on steam, also is the game finished? its not in early access, oh right its because steam now forces early access games to update once a year or people can make refunds
Extremely scummy of the devs
The latest release is considered more or less feature complete by the devs from what I could gather, updates will probably be just bug fixes and new sceneslmao at asking $15 for this on steam, also is the game finished? its not in early access, oh right its because steam now forces early access games to update once a year or people can make refunds

Just mark it as hidden when you purchase it. Done and dusted.Bringing it to steam seems like a bad idea, Maybe gog but steam? nah too many people too many eyes.
I ain't purchasing this steam release, When I said too many eyes I meant it as in a broader range of people who can see it and that can range from hate to support which may hinder development and there are people who might doxx the developer out of pure spite.Just mark it as hidden when you purchase it. Done and dusted.
I understand that the creator of these models gives permission to use them as long as they is given credit for the models. My only concern is if they got permission to use the models
