Don't Give Up! I believe in Space sex supremacy!
I work on it from time to time in between other stuff I need to do to make sure I can still eat. Hard to stay motivated seriously between those reviews I got when I first released this and the lack of support. I deleted the patreon because it was also demotivating. I still continue to rewrite and restructure the game from the "old school" way I was doing things. Been playing with and better learning DAZ and Blender to create more monsters. Left is a standard G8 female and right is a g2 I converted to G8. Working on possibly adding some combat(we'll see). The goal has been to create a game that is different everytime though people didn't seem to appreciate the customizer it was there but the system was also used in the generator I created.

I won't tell you to quit work to make this game, we all gotta eat. but I will tell you not to give up. Motivation is always hard to come by but remember you are making this game for yourself first and don't let a few bad reviews on a old outdated Demo get to you. you've shown that you have been working on this game and improving it leaps and bounds so don't let your effort go to waste. I BELIEVE IN YOU!

I'm not sure how motivated you've been with this lately, but I'm more than willing to support Free Use Space, and I kinda wish you hadn't taken down the patreon. Truth be told the game was NOT terrible- I liken the quality to LifePlay. Something your game had that LifePlay didn't, however, is well-made models that also had some kind of deform and from what I saw, physics. Your models are great. The gameplay had bugs and could be a little more fleshed out, but was overall promising. I look forward to seeing more from you, when you get the chance.

LifePlay was the primary inspiration for this game. I actually looked at the source code for the old version vimfamy had in git and fixed it so it would compile but that code was a mess. Very hard to understand what was what so I decided to start my own from scratch. I can't say I'm too motivated here but I do have interest in working on this game even if I am the only one that plays it. I have been going through training as I have time. Learning the new gameplay ability system and all the advanced stuff in unreal engine 5.x. It is likely that this won't even be the same game anymore but a complete rewrite. As for the patron one of the reasons I took it down was so I can train at my own pace without worrying about making my 3 patrons happy(I literally had 3 patrons despite thousands of downloads from itchio alone). Patron was taking close to 40 percent anyway so it didn't seem worth keeping it up.

I admire your interest in dev work as a whole, and I also liked lifeplay quite a lot; it had ideas that would have fit well with this game, though something lifeplay lacked as a whole was visual quality, which I feel your work is better about. Regarding Patreon, I think you may want to look at an example of a game very similar to (though superior to in my eyes in terms of quality) LifePlay called Influencing. It appears to be doing quite well as far as patreon goes, likely due to it having a dedicated AI server you can pay for on patreon to use. Besides that, the game itself has clear polish and seems to have a focused scope in its theme. Taking some plays out of the book of Golden Crow, the dev for Influencing, might help if you want to publish a game and monetize it. On f95, I can confidently say that this game, Influencing, and LifePlay are very unique with a group of people who love these types of sims. The initial reception may have been bad, but that doesn't erase that the product you intended to put out does have a very dedicated audience.

Thanks. I wasn't expecting too much in the way of monetization. Just to not be the only one supporting the game. As far as audience. With 1.8 stars most people wouldn't even download the game. With no contradictory reviews I had to assume that was a picture of the overall sentiment. What I have so far is far from the same game that was released but is not "polished" enough to release as a new version. I wonder how much that Ai is costing the dev. Typically every AI hit to the API carries some sort of cost because the model has to be consuming compute resources and likely GPU's so the supporters are paying for that.

Update:
After looking into the game you mentioned it seems that dev is moving away from renpy to an actual game engine due to limitations of what he can do in renpy. Seems he has a steep learning curve in his future.

I'm sure the AI is costing a little in terms of resources, though there aren't more than maybe 10 people using it at any given time, so it can't be much. Moreover to discussions of polish, your game's polish issues mostly come from UI bugs, not anything related to purely the quality. Some different interactions with different members and a bit of character depth would have gone an extremely long way to people's enjoyment. I've seen people praising objectively worse games with less content. Immersion matters most to people, and the UI not being buggy or confusing adds to that plenty. Your game honestly didn't get very much attention at all, so to say that you simply hadn't heard anything other than "game bad" meaning your game is bad means you don't have enough of an audience. I mean, the 1.8 rating came from a total of FOUR people after all. You have the makings of a good game, and you really didn't make a whole lot of mistakes. Things that could have simply been fixed with time and direction, of course. Don't lose faith in the game. It's a great idea and you were very close to executing it well.

your video card may not have enough vram. However you can make sure you have up to date drivers and direct x 12 installed. Other than that I'm not sure it will run on your hardware.
