after playng office rivals i decided to try the other vn the dev made. I absolutely loved it, too bad it was so short. i believe we need more wholesome story like this is this site
I always smile whenever new players discover this VN from time to time. It was my 1st VN and a learning experience, so it was very short. Unfortunately there is not much appeal or support for this kind of story; a pure slice-of-life story, eventhough I love making stories of this genre.Aww, it has a really cute story, the only problem is that it's too short. The end, like me, came too quickly
rest assured that the audience for slice of life wholesome stories is quite large. if it wasnt, games like grandma's house, my new family, between humanity would not be as succesful as they are. most of us have already enough drama in our lives to be masochists enough to have it in our entertainment as well.Unfortunately there is not much appeal or support for this kind of story; a pure slice-of-life story, eventhough I love making stories of this genre.
When compared to the examples, not being harem is definitely one of the reasons haha.grandma's house, my new family, between humanity would not be as succesful as they are
my guess is that there are other reasons for your game not getting the attetnion you would like.
true the harem part could be one reason, but that is not always the only one. it could be the art style, certain elements of the story, advertisement, etc. although most people are into harems, imo they are mostly into that because it offers most content in one playthrough. multiple ending games for example although popular depending on story, are not THAT popular because not everyone has the time to go through the same game multiple times to see a few renders more. plus in most harems nowdays, you can pretty much have a multiple ending for those ( still trying to figure out why) who want solo endings and have the time to play 11 different versions of the same game/story ( yeah I still got nothing on this)When compared to the examples, not being harem is definitely one of the reasons haha.
It's OK, I enjoy my series direction, it's a bit grounded. And I can't wait to create new ones when my current VN is finished. Take care!
I'm not sure why this discussion has turned a bit complicated about the technicalities of harem. No harsh tone here, all good from me. Of course, there are many other reasons. I was only making a light comment.true the harem part could be one reason, but that is not always the only one. it could be the art style, certain elements of the story, advertisement, etc. although most people are into harems, imo they are mostly into that because it offers most content in one playthrough. multiple ending games for example although popular depending on story, are not THAT popular because not everyone has the time to go through the same game multiple times to see a few renders more. plus in most harems nowdays, you can pretty much have a multiple ending for those ( still trying to figure out why) who want solo endings and have the time to play 11 different versions of the same game/story ( yeah I still got nothing on this)
but at the end of the day, as long as you are good with what you create and it makes you feel ok, then its good, because most of the time, devs who like what they created, will commit to it and finish it.
Wow... my drunk ass just realized I posted this here instead of Office Rivals as I was browsing your previous work....The game feels great... like a cool fizzy drink.
Also... its good to see nice, engaging devs so kudos to you!
That's okay! I'll just assume the comment applies to both works, hehe. Thanks for giving Office Rivals a try!Wow... my drunk ass just realized I posted this here instead of Office Rivals as I was browsing your previous work....
