Honestly, the problem with the 18-year-old/ older person dynamic is it's hard to tell if they met the person when they were 18 and decided whether or not they were groomed. That being said, shit's none of my business, so I don't go all Karen on anybody, but to say it's only Redditors that care is to underestimate the audience against it.

However, on topic, it seems like a lot of people just base the entire judgement instantly on the first introduction of a character.
Yeah I used to be against anti slutty / one night stand LI when I first started playing AVN's. But as I played more AVN's I learned never good to judge them on a first impressions as they might end up being a character I love. To use this game as a example Nicki is kind of a good example of this actually. I disliked Nicki initially cause I wasnt into her looks cause of her short hair ( im picky when it comes to short hair). But after getting to know her she is my favorite character and in my top 10 LI list.
So I no longer write those kind of LI off right away anymore even if they are still my least favorite if there is a nice slow burn LI but ill still make an effort to get to them a bit until I decide which solo path I want to take. unless it's a harem but as you can guess from this comment it's probably rare for me to play a harem game.

Like Dessolos said, my first impression of her after meeting her at the bar. The ditsiness, the like-speak. At first, I thought she was more of a wall-flower and clumsy in social interactions, but seeing that part of her job is public speaking, that wasn't the case.
Well, i do recommend checking her path. It's actually pretty interesting. It explains why she is using Valleygirl speak and clearly shows us that she isn't your cliche ditzy bimbo.

that part when we learned about her made me want to make her my favorite character but Nicki just had an slight edge for me cause she had something else I loved in a LI.

I hope we get more scenes where we can cuddle with Mason in the future.
I don't even care that much about the sex scenes, but I love cuddling scenes.

Yes, age doesn't really matter when it comes to power imbalances, hell younger people can have power over older people in relationships, it's not as common, but it happens. Each relationship is different, it's not black and white that's for sure. I don't agree with this really though..

..I definitely don't think most younger women or men, in a relationship with a significantly older person, have power over their partner. It depends on the circumstances of their relationship, but I generally believe that most older people hold a monetary and/or career advantage over a younger partner. And I feel like in the majority of these relationships, the older person knows they can always find another young attractive person if their partner suddenly left them, therefore the younger person is the one with pretty much everything to lose. (Granted young attractive people can always find someone else too, but it's not as easy to find a single well-off person, when compared to a well-off person finding a young attractive partner)

In the cases where the older person isn't rich, and isn't some big shot doctor, actor, musician, etc... then the power imbalance either doesn't exist, or the younger person can actually hold the advantage, since they have not nearly as much to lose. The older one would be much more willing to do whatever to get their young attractive partner to stick with them. Though in general these relationships where the significantly older one isn't rich and/or has a top tier career, tend to be more founded in love anyways, in general those relationships come off as far less shallow in my opinion. It's not to say that all relationships that have some kind of imbalance, aren't founded in love, because quite a lot of them definitely are.

Anyways, this is the last I'll say on this topic, I don't mind discussing these sorts of topics, but I don't wanna flood the thread too much with it. :ROFLMAO:
It makes me wonder bro.
Who would be in charge if Mason & I was in a relationship?
I like to think we would be equals.

I know one thing though I would make sure to always include him in any decision I make.
We would be a team.

I'm surprised at the lack of discussion of the girl that, in real life, would have slit Guy's throat for what he did to her in that back office. Everybody else pretty much folded at the deviant treatment but she was ready to murder

Aren't you a romantic person haha,
For me relationships are transitional in some shape or form. Beauty and companionship are valuable like money and security.

Unless Dicaprio or some rich famous person then is encouraged to date them.

double standards from context.
Is only frowned upon if the older dude /gal is deemed low value.

A high status older person don't need to be creepy as suitors are going to be plenty and willing.

The fifty shades of grade director gets plenty of shit for meeting her husband of 12 years when he was 18. It's just not as prevalent with older women as women generally tend to favor financial security over looks.

Being able to dislike an LI for their choices or personality is evidence of good/strong writing. For me, it's not about the lewds, they're a bonus. A good story with characters who evolve, that's where it's at for me.
Oh I absolutely agree, I am always more drawn to games with interesting characters rather than outright lewds, which is a bit nonsensical I suppose but it is what it is.

Like in real life, a first impression and the way you carry yourself will make people judge you. Might not be fair, but it is what it is.
Absolutely, but this isn't real life nor do we only run into her once, people tend to use games for escapism so carrying the same societal prejudice (for lack of a better term) just seems a bit weird to me. Games are an opportunity to do things we don't normally do.

Demonizing is a bit strong, I agree. I don't hate her, and will try her path on a next playthrough. Just based on my first impression and her general look, I wasn't interested. Though, if I met her in real life, I'd probably try to get to know her better on a 2nd date. She does come across as really sweet. This being a game does limit those options, and with not having finished it yet, I don't have the hindsight to know if a 2nd date is even possible.
I'm in the same camp, I wasn't interested at all since she's just not the type of character that I enjoy, and through the same thought of her coming across as sweet I kept her around as a friend and she definitely did score some points later on for me. Even enough for me to reconsider her as a potential LI for next playthrough.
I just thought it was funny with how extreme some of the posts in here were, for the smallest things.

Ofc trying to be fair that can happen to both sexes, but as you mentioned men are more visual and pursue youth and beauty.

Billy bob thornton actor could have younger girls the deterrent for him is if he wants to be in this situation because it could turn into amber heard stories.

For women is harder as you need to be Sofia vergara levels. And men don't really find money and experience a factor.

I'm not religious but read somewhere about in the Arab Bible that stroke a chord in me, that say don't try to find a wife if you don't have money or the means to provide, is simple and obvious but is not a something is told enough.

our Mc would be jerking off to Nicki porn in a rented room without his crypto pipeline.

That's just not the way I play. I don't pursue every LI just because it's a game and I can. I'd be perfectly happy with a celibate playthrough if none of the LI appeal to me. Though I also try to listen to what the MC wants.

That's entirely fair, to each their own and we all enjoy things in different ways. I also do take MC's musings into consideration in games, and I too can end up just not being interested in any LI's so I do understand where you're coming from on that part.

Does Guy look like a 40+ (most common creep age I've seen posted) year old to you all? I think personally somewhere closer to like mid 30s at most (as someone younger)? Mason and Britanni look a bit over "18" Gabi for sure "looks" the youngest but even then I wouldn't look at Guy x (teen of choice) the same way I would look at someone (girl or guy) in their 30s-40 with someone over 100.
