Just played the april's fools update.
Was definitelly not expecting a story about Brent. Despite being a jerk completelly obssessed with Guy he wasn't a complete asshole and end up deciding to go warn Nikki that Ron is after her, while commiting a few crimes along the way.
And his crazy nightmare made me laugh. Well done Neon.

Yea, it's kind of funny how Risa's just skyrocketed in terms of characters I'm interested in. Just threw my whole personal rankings list into disarray.
I feel like that whenever any character gets a scene tbh. This is what other VNs would feel like if the LIs weren't one-dimensional porno tropes
Speaking of, no one asked, but yet again, I came across a new VN with honestly amazing renders that got me pretty excited to try it. Whelp, that deflated after maybe the 3rd or 4th (non-sex) scene... a lot of authors here like to write towards the style of anime/hentai and I know a lot of people must love it, but I can't stand it. I avoided asking this because it might be a sensitive subject for some, but... in my gameplay I ignored Mason simply because he's trans, something I'm not really interested in, but since you guys are talking about him, clear this doubt for me:
He's a woman, transitioning to be a man right? Looking at the game files, I saw that he dresses like a woman for Guy, in the end, will he be a man or a woman?
Forcing a trans person who wants to be a man to dress up as a woman to 'serve' the MC is something that, in my opinion, only matches the dark path, which is not the path I follow in my gameplay, and I don't want my character to be 'gay', so I avoided Mason, but if he turns out to be a woman in the end, maybe I should pay more attention to 'her'.
So what should I expect, male or female, or does it depend on the path I choose?

IIRC that isn't quite true, she doesn't mind being a girl for the sex but asks you to call her a boy after you're done, and if you refuse then that upsets her.

tldr; 800+ renders completed for Chapter 9. Working on finishing Risa's sex scenes. Mostly done with Alex's brief scene that makes her a more central part of the plot.
When I say scenes here, I'm specifically referring to sex/sexual scenes.Out of curiosity, when you said scenes you mean everything including story progression and sex? For instance Guy still needs to bring Mason to get some glasses so that would be one scene?
She pops up in Chapter 9, assuming you decide to take Mason shopping.
Mason's path is a little more complicated than some of the others. Being that he's homeless, disabled, and a sex worker, his threshold for what's acceptable from MC is entirely different than most of the other love interests. It's always possible that my plans could change a bit, but he's basically set up to have a few paths.
- Friend - No sex. MC's just looking out for him out of benevolence, or because it makes him look good to the public.
- Romance - MC accepts Mason's identity, and they can develop a close bond.
- Corruption/FWB - MC's mainly interested in sex, referring to Mason as a girl in bed, and a boy or girl outside of it. This path skews dark or light, just depending on how much MC wants to take advantage of Mason's position of vulnerability.
I actually wrote 90% of a Madison short story, which showed how she and Ryan met, her first meeting with Gabby, etc.. But, then I decided it'd be better as something done in-game. So, I'm kind of reworking that a bit. Still, we'll meet him pretty soon.
Glad you enjoyed it! I've said this before, but in an alternate reality, Brent would be the hero of the story - the underdog, fighting against this rich jackass who 'stole' his girlfriend, while trying to grow and learn to be a less shitty person. That said, Brent's still a jerk who's incapable of owning up to his own role in screwing up his life (and Nicki's). Maybe one day he'll get his life together. :'D
Hate to (maybe) burst your bubble but iirc we discussed the pill bottle including using it again/on others, and when I pointed out that Neon has said and done stuff to "limit paths" (some of the girls avoiding Guy if he is rapey) and said that it will more than likely apply to the pill bottle I wasn't corrected.Reminds me of those sillier games with an inventory system where using any item once, regardless of logic, fully depletes it
Instead of just writing "2 scenes" (ashe drugged or not) they would have to write multiple for every single possible use.... I could be wrong but I wasn't corrected the first time
