If fictional rape triggers you maybe you should play without the taboo content activated or just play the more family friendly Patreon version Friends Indeed. I prefer to play good guy and corruption but I think the dark scenes are one of the things that define Friends in Need since the beginning. There is no reason to add trigger warnings nor tone down the more gritty scenes in Friends in Need patched because that's the point of the patch imo.
You have options to play a lighter version of the game, play those.

i mean for me the part that makes this game is the dark path. imo, without it, it would just be another game on this site.

I have no problem with the rape choice being in the game, I have a bugged version that did not let me pick the choice to “ignore or help her”so it felt like your character was forced to rape, but others have posted me the choice menu I should have seen if I didn’t get that “exception error” screen

Hmmm, I dunno. I can kinda see it... an eager man with a vanilla taste; he sets up a full FiN patched game to avoid the censorship from the patreon overlords. He's having the time of his life churning his howdy-doody dick to his little waifus when all of the sudden Lucien sequence

I do honestly feel bad for them lol. It's probably a huge gut-wrenching gross-out for a lot of people, even the ones who just read for story.

But Neon basically confirmed he's going to add the options, so eh, more choice = more happy people, no sweat off our back :)

I haven't played the update, but I read there was a rape scene?
I think you all know what I will choose when I play.

A short message to every complainer:

1. Didn't I tell you to wait for the public release?

2. whining because MC doesn't carry a gun, huh? I guess he ain't livin' in America, 'mkay?

3. whining because you're playing the asshole route and you can't help the girl, huh? ooh, poor lad... the walkthrough has been updated, so grab it and read it, 'mkay?

4. check whether you're playing the Friends Indeed version or the Friends in Need version - just check the title screen, bruh - and check whether you installed the taboo patch and made it work by editing it, 'mkay?

Now shoo and stop whining like a toddler.

'mkay?

TBH if you have to leave the game to read a walkthrough to not have an unwanted scene, that's not acceptable. It needs to be in game.

You don't need a walkthrough the game gives you a clear option to help her or not
What about preventing her from being raped at all? I haven't played this yet (as in this game at all - waiting for a non-beta), and if that's something in and not given a choice to prevent, not interested.

Not 'mkay, huh?

The dude sits on a pile of bucks and publicly gives it away to various weirdos. Didn't he ever think that someone like Lucien might one day drop by for a cup of coffee, stick a gun under his nose and offer to become the largest donor of a private studio making adult films educational content?

Carrying a weapon yourself is unlikely to do the MC any good, considering the MC is a former store clerk or something. That gun would most likely end up in his arse if he started something with someone like that Lucien's enforcer. But hiring someone who has experience with this sort of thing seems like a pretty good idea. Especially considering MC’s pathological passion for getting into other people’s problems and saving damsels in distress. Doesn't being a white knight require training and certification?

Don't sweat friend. What you just played was an unfinished demo version of the new release. When the actual version will be out you will have to play the release all over and i'm sure the bug will no longer be there. Unless you have played so far on constant rape mode, i believe. I, for instance, always played Mr. Nice and some of the dark options are not available anymore in my game.

Nah even with the full chapter you will get the choice to not do it too, Neon said it before every lewd scene is avoidable if you want to not play it. except the Nicki at the first ch1 , but that will change when he redo the chapter1 again

I’ve got a couple hundred people on the “playtester” tier, and not one of them had an issue with that “bug,” so I’m going to guess it’s a matter of someone using UnRen and then getting mad when they fucked with the script, causing it to break.

I’m not a great coder, but even I can’t fuck up a simple menu option linked to a True/False variable.

As for MC needing a bodyguard.. Shit, why didn’t Lethal Weapon just end with Mel Gibson calling in the SWAT team to shoot Gary Busey? Is he stupid??

This completely puts aside that this very problem of MC worrying about his safety is highlighted in the story. We see him reflect on his bad luck and his need to be more prepared, and then he.. Takes steps to do it.

You know, progressing the story in a natural way, and not just opening the story with Agent 47 constantly following him.

I don't really care about all that gun stuff, but bro Lucien is lucky I'm not in the game because I would fucking destroy him.

Oh, and being a white knight does not require training it just matters that you treat women like the goddesses they are.

Edit - Neon made an agent 47 reference which just further proves he's the goat.

Oh come on bro, I understand where you're coming from, but that's not a very good example. Why would Riggs call for backup when he himself is a lethal weapon and sgt. Murtaugh has his back? :KEK:

But your MC isn't even a former marine or navy seal or a police officer like most die hard MCs these days. :Kappa: Still, it seems that he is conceived as a smart guy, so the idea that such a pile of money, demonstrated publicly, will attract the attention of not only golddigers but also banal robbers should have visited him naturally.

However, I didn’t get to the point where he reflects upon finding himself in such a situation for the first time and takes steps, so maybe dude isn't so careless in the future.

Gold diggers? I honestly don't think so dude. Every LI in this game likes Guy because he's a nice Normal dude (on my playthrough anyway).
None of these babes would ever try and take advantage of that.

HOW da F do you know what most ppl like or not?? Or better what most of the dev supporters like or not???
That is todays problem... "I dont like it, so all ppl dont like it" mentality...
IMO What makes this game great is the dark path, the rape, the drugs, the use of money to corrupt, and the girls renders are great too imo. But there are a lof of games with good renders and vanilla story, where the MC just fucks everything and all girls are in love with MC... bs
Pretty obvious if you read any threads here. Lots of people dislike NTR, futa, etc AND seeing violence towards women.
