It's biologically not very correct, sticking to one mate will restrict your ability to produce as many offsprings as possible.
What does producing as many children as possible have to do with relationships or being monogamous?sticking to one mate will restrict your ability to produce as many offsprings as possible.
Which with 8 fucking billion people on the planet...and the most longevity of our species ever...why your great grandparents had like 58 kids...because 55 of them would most likely be dead before the age of 20.It's biologically not very correct, sticking to one mate will restrict your ability to produce as many offsprings as possible.
I read a few studies about it and there is no conclusive answer on that one tho.
It has nothing to do with today's times, we are biologically programmed to do it and that's about it.What does producing as many children as possible have to do with relationships or being monogamous?
Fewer and fewer people want to raise children in this world, especially with all the current problems.
just enjoy each other,
in a monogamous relationship or with several persons,
you really don't have to have children in life to be happy !!![]()
Personally, I think it comes down to verisimilitude. Sure, in a work of fiction it's entirely possible to have a harem full of girls who are all happy to share the MC without issue, but in my experience games that do that come across as, well, fake. People just don't generally act like that, so having more than one (or maybe two) LI eager to join a time share either requires all the LIs have the same 'rare' personality, or it requires they act wildly out of character for the sake of the harem. In the real world? Yeah, sure, jealousy is killer in relationships and the more people, the more sources of jealousy. Hell 'that' jealousy often comes just fine from the two sources of insecurity and misunderstanding in perfectly faithful monogamous relationships. In fiction? I don't get it. Especially fiction which otherwise exemplifies a celebration of... well... sluttery. Here for instance. Guy is totally getting his wick wet in a dozen girls. But somehow it's preferable that he excludes all others for a single one at some point because "that's romance" isn't something I understand. Granted, I don't know where this story is ultimately going, NeonGhosts might well pair Guy off with a single girl in a way that works in the narrative, and thusfar that's more or less what I'm expecting. But as it stands that only seems to be really a thing with Ashe, and even then she seems open sexually to threesomes, and is more against the emotional infidelity. Which strikes me as realistic and pertinent to her character, but also ends up more or less forcing a choice where Guy has to decide if she's 'worth it' (along with sub branches of infidelity). which is where I'm going "nah, brah"
I at least understand the harem games where the MC is all like "I'm the only one you can sleep with, but I get anyone I want" without jealousy ever coming into play. Dickishly selfish it may be, it's fiction, and fictional people can be well fleshed out and deeply complex and be satisfying without being overly wishfullfillmenty. Like "WVM"s first two LI have absolutely workable motivations and justifications that can be woven into far more interesting and complex stories. (To be clear, WVM is not that interesting, narratively speaking.)
Or if going to force the harem...at least have writing skills (and actual knowledge of the human pysche and how people act) and force a lot of drama at times betwen the girls, forcing us (the MC) to deal with said jealousy/time-share/personality problems that inevitibly, as you say, in real life will always occur (and if you screw up girls will leave etc).Personally, I think it comes down to verisimilitude. I'd much rather bite the bullet and allow the girls to react 'normally,' even if it's sometimes hard to choose. It keeps things grounded, and makes the romance feel more meaningful. Plus, it allows the rare girls who are into sharing to stand out - as they should.
That's how I see it, anyway. I suspect personal preference plays a very large role in this.
That and why 5 girls would share the same resources of said man if they can get better deals. Unless said man is king, wizard, post apocalypse survivor might makes right. Make no fucking sense. Yeah they can all fuck him but being loyal to one man?Or if going to force the harem...at least have writing skills (and actual knowledge of the human pysche and how people act) and force a lot of drama at times betwen the girls, forcing us (the MC) to deal with said jealousy/time-share/personality problems that inevitibly, as you say, in real life will always occur (and if you screw up girls will leave etc).
Now that would be a haram game at the top of my to play list.
Yeah David, but somehow that's how is has been since forever
I think you've been puff puff passin too much, bruv.It has nothing to do with today's times, we are biologically programmed to do it and that's about it.
Some biological impulses are hard to bypass.
I have been stone-cold sober for the last couple of years, thanks for asking.I think you've been puff puff passin too much, bruv.![]()
You're in a lot of the same threads as me sir.don't even usually try games that have the tag
He is slowly poping up in every thread I follow lolYou're in a lot of the same threads as me sir.
*gives bombastic side eye*
Yeah and I think this is the only non harem game I follow. He is slowly poping up in every thread I follow lol
I should probably clarify.Yeah and I think this is the only non harem game I follow.
The only reason I'm still here is cause he writes the characters too good.I should probably clarify.
I do play a few harem games, but I can't enjoy them as much as I can a game that is strictly monogamy focused.
Honestly if this had the harem tag, I probably wouldn't have even tried it.
I'm glad I did of course because it's one of my favourites now.
And I know NeonGhosts wouldn't force us to be with any girl romantically.
Same here. I don't like being forced to choose one LI.The only reason I'm still here is cause he writes the characters too good.
I'm hopeful that as the game nears completion, it doesn't do the AVN standard sad LI thing if you choose to not engage romantically, cause hating that is why I only play harems. Once I know what the thruple or quad or whatever options are, I'll do a single run romancing those LIs and just helping the rest.
Better deals than our guy? Yeah right... I'm sure there are just tons of millionaire philanthropists lining up for the girls. That and why 5 girls would share the same resources of said man if they can get better deals.
