But, the patch doesn't need updating with this game, as it doesn't come with any game content, simply a text file that tells the game that you have patch content enabled, which is already included with the base download. Even when the dev splits the game into two versions, I think the "Friends in Need" version will still be what gets uploaded here and patch will still be a simple text file or w/e, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Haha, yeah... I'd guess the main reason is that Mason's character doesn't have history with the MC and is upfront about everything and nothing really needs to be figured out on the part of MC. With Nicki, I think it's two main things: 1) her relationship with MC is more complicated (to me at least) and I always get the feeling she's confused and unsure about a lot of things between them, whereas MC tells us that he has feelings for her; and 2) the order of events in chp. 1, i.e. she gets dressed up which signals interest, spends time with MC, and then asks for money. Because of those two things combined, I imagine it allows the especially paranoid players to project all of their worst expectations onto the character, despite the fact you've said otherwise and have left various things in the game that notify her true intentions.
Some of these dudes are probably the kind who throw around "cuck" willy-nilly and are really, really sensitive to feeling or appearing emasculated, perhaps even are naturally mistrusting of women in relationships, which we can all agree is an unhealthy growing trend these days..
I feel like your revamped chp.1 should fix #2 (order of events) issue some players have since your intended friend relationship will be emphasized more and it will be easier to see that Nicki is being pushed around and manipulated by Brent (wearing the dress, asking for money, etc.).. but if they're the aforementioned kind of guy, who couldn't sympathize with a real woman in the real world if they tried, they're probably going to keep harping on about "whore Nicki using and cucking the player" no matter what you do.

Dude I don't know what you are trying to get, she knew it was a joint account and it was her responsibility. Either she gave the info that night or MC knew it beforehand changes nothing, she could have said "oh btw don't send that to that account" if he knew the info; if she gave info that night or next day she could have chose another one or even if that joint account was the only account due to her prior bankruptcy or something else, she could have asked cash. She could have cash out after MC put it in joint account. Thousands of options she had and only wrong option was trusting Brent but she did it anyway. MC gave 20k, she lost it and somehow it's MC's fault. How?

It's hard to sympathize with Nikki anyway since she escalates the situtation all on her own (good MC route).
By that logic, one could assume MC and Nikki only transacted before she make a joint account, or assume Nikki always has joint account without ever telling MC, etc.
Assumptions don't mean anything since the reality is Nikki herself felt stupid and ashamed for not telling MC about that crucial tiny detail.

Nope, you're wrong there dude. You can already go onto the good path after raping Nicki at the beginning. Or go onto the bad path after being nice to her at the beginning. That isn't anything new. The difference is that you currently do so at the end of chapter 3, and the scene at the beginning of chapter 3 when she first appears back in his life is fixed based on the choice made in chapter 1. I just think that if he's going to go from one path to the other, it makes more sense for his change of heart to be during the time she was away, therefore the choice being as soon as she arrived back rather than later on.

I've had this same qualm with both Hillside and Pale Carnations recently, especially the latter. If you decide to date one of the characters, now you're locked out of arguably the funniest FWB (I presume it will eventually lead to a relationship) characters in the game, and now you have to cheat on your gf or you have to break her heart when it is fairly clear she's into you. Especially when games make you choose a path, I find it to be arguably the least enjoyable part of the game, as you either let one person down, or another.

I'd have to check my verbiage for that passage, but I think my intention was more that Nicki and Brent had always had a shared account, and she just didn't think about it before accepting the deposit there. After all, they were usually splitting the shared income of a couple of under-employed convenience store clerks, so it's not like there was ever the worry Brent would take much, since there was never much to take. Nicki defaulted to old habits. After all, how many people would stop to think, "Oh hey, let's go down to the bank and open a new account before I accept this giant sum of money."
And reading between the lines, once can assume Brent insisted on shared accounts, as one more way to exert control over Nicki. Honestly, I'm kind of looking forward to having Brent come back, just so I can dig into that relationship a bit more.

No, sorry. The reason's three-fold.
- I don't think Mason would really be the same character is he was a trans girl. That carries with it a whole other set of societal perceptions and pressures and yadda yadda yadda. I don't want to get into the politics of it, but his challenges would be different, as society looks at trans women differently than trans men.
- I'd have to make even more variations of his sex scenes if there was the option to swap his gender. His scene with the wig was already enough of a headache. Go look at the code for that section, it was super annoying.
- I'm personally just not super into trans girls/dick, and I've have a hard time putting my all into it. And if I did it, I likely wouldn't do the fantasy version where you have a perfectly femme lady who just happens to have a dick. She'd likely be more realistic, which I don't think would really please the people who want that particular feature in the game.
