As a woman that's been a victim, hearing about IRL rapes makes me feel sick and quickly leave the room if it's being talked about on a TV or scroll away on a website or what have you. It never really bothers me in games or other fiction. I had no problem playing the dark route, despite my IRL experiences. My favorite VN of all time is a Japanese game I won't mention the name of due to the rules that left me completely emotionally devastated that had several dozen rape scenes.

The dark path needs an accomplice to fall into proper literary erotic horror territory. in BH understood and Jackie got a gf, in Story of the Eye the narrator got his gf simone, in natural born killers Mickey has Mallory. Also the narrator is supposed to escape in the end not get caught and punished. Its not because the he doesnt deserve it, but because in real life monsters exist and thrive. That's why hero's exist in literature. Not so people can believe they are a hero, but so the common people can feels like some day some how justice will pervail.
Sadly the only character that would work as Guy's accomplice/gf would be Mason, unless his sister finally shows up. We don't know her character but being related it would be very plausible for her to have the same dark streak as MC. I wonder if she will ever actually show up one day, regardless of path.

in real life corruption plays a big role on why alot of bad peaple stayed out of prison some countries more then others i have read stories about cartel lords or wealthy chinese bussiness man doing horrible things to girls and only getting 18 months jail or even getting away whit it...some are are even hidden by the government itself since it will torn the image of the ruling party...the world is a dark place and only god knows whats truly going on on the higher parts of society...even so i do believe that we humans are generally good

I suppose it would mainly help a lot with save clutter. Instead of needing, say, 20 saves for certain variables/paths, you would only need 1 save that has all those variables already set. Save-based gallery seems like the best compromise imo, maybe the least headache too?
I'm not a coder, so I'm talking out of my ass. But, when it comes to games that have so many scene variations, I've always wondered if it'd be possible to have a gallery submenu that has starting default variables already set, but that lets you tweak everything (each variable having a pull-down menu or w/e that has all the possible acceptable values), then 'save' it and then any scene you replay has those variables set (sans variables that are required for the scene). Dunno how that'd work, whether it creates a separate save file that stores the replay gallery variables, or what.
Alternatively, selecting a scene from the gallery asks you any relevant questions to set variables for the scene, for example whether Ashe is afraid of you, or hates you, or whether you've already had sex with her or not, or blah blah, before proceeding.
I'd guess these latter two methods would just be a huge pain in the ass to do, though. Like I said, I think save-game based gallery seems like the best compromise between the dev's sanity & what the players want from a gallery.
If MC's gonna have an accomplice, it's probably going to be Isabella (Brit's mom) or Tessa (Jamie's little helper). They're both narcissists/psychos that don't care about anyone else. Only other thing I could imagine is corrupting/scaring one of the normal LIs so much that they reluctantly go along with it. Don't know who would fall under that; my 2c, definitely not Nicki or Risa, the others maybe can be controlled?

IDK, maybe if being bad was about money and influence that would make sense. But dark Guy is using his money to unleash his inner demon, a narcissist and or psycho doesnt fit as they dont see their actions as wrong. Those are conflicting types of dark behavior. We are looking for someone who finds an act of violence of Guy's as sexually arousing, or taking part in as an act of liberation. The crazy has to match, not necessarily as be the same but fit like a puzzle piece.
