Maybe but I can't imagine taking that route. I think it's because - for most of my life I've lived around people who were one bit of bad luck away from bankruptcy and homelessness. I tried once playing in asshole mode and I just don't have it in me to be horrible to people just because I have more money than them. I mean I can be an asshole but I need a better motivation than money.

I can see that being a good thing if you don’t want a sexual relationship with Nicki (just want to remain friends). I hope there’s also an option to say “Yes, I want to but not like this - only when you’re single, and only when you want to do it without the money. Our first time isn’t going to be because I paid you."

Nah that’s not how anything works. On the asshole route you definitely have sex, and she came to you dressed like that for a reason. Saying - we’re not going to have sex for the first time while you still have a boyfriend who you’re going home to and while I’m handing you $20k - isn’t going to piss her off. Saying - I’ve had a crush on you for years, come see me when you’re single and not asking for money is fully reasonable. I'm not talking about asshole route, but about the path where you give Nicky the money simply because she asked, making it clear you don't want anything from her in return.
It'd very much piss me off to hear from a guy he thinks i'd readily fuck him because he gave me 20k, thankyouverymuch. It kind of overshadows the whole boyfriend thing and anything else he might pull out of his ass as "concerns", and i'd be quite inclined to tell him to go fuck himself and that sex with him is off the table, period.
Of course this is true, but then neither are you, and the fact that my reading of your words is very different from yours shows that you can't conclude that she for sure wouldn't react negatively to being told such a thing. And that the claim saying things like that is fully reasonable is dubious -- because i don't think i'm the only person in the world who'd interpret them in such manner, and so there's certain likeliness your "fully reasonable" statement could badly backfire.
And why exactly does it have to be pretending? You think that it's not possible for Nicki in the prologue of the game to want fuck Guy without him doing her favors?
It’s not the only factor, but it is a factor and - If she’s someone I care about and have been crushing on for years, I’d rather it wasn’t a factor at all. If she reacted the way you’re suggesting it would mean, to me, that she wasn’t who I thought she was and I’d happily let her walk out, wouldn’t care if she came back and would move on with my life with zero regrets. I wouldn’t be on the Nicki path - might let her crash for a few days later, but that would be it.
Except now it's never* going to be no factor at all. The fact Guy has given Nicki money is now permanent part of their relationship.
Maybe but for me it's still better if she is in a situation where she can say she doesn't want to and walk away without suffering for it - which she can. If you're on the nice path, when she comes back she says that she's not in a position to be anyone's girlfriend. You give her a place to stay, buy her new stuff, and offer her a job all before there's any sex. So at that point, if she says "I don't want to" she can be pretty confident that you're not going to punish her for it. It's all about maintaining trust outside of the power dynamic.

Nope, none of the above. I don't want a one night stand with Nicki, I want a relationship and at the very least I want her to still be my friend and trust me so - just like I wouldn't fuck her when she's very drunk, I wouldn't fuck her on a night when I gave her $20k - because in either case she's not really in her right head. At least I wouldn't unless we had a prior sexual relationship. I've also said - not while she's still Brent's girlfriend but you've been ignoring that part.
