I got the same, the forest lord guarding the sun mushroom, if you say no, the game gets stuck.
After saying "No" and the dialogue closing, can't move or press escape or anything, monsters can't fight me either

Not sure why but I had to sleep 3 times to get my hp and mana back

Oh, the thing is that sleep puts the "healing" status on you, but this status needs "one game turn" to take effect. So what happened was that after taking a few steps during the three sleeps, the very first status applied healed you. After sleeping, just keep moving forward, and the healing will work after about 30-40 steps, while you have to walk much further to encounter the first enemy in the forest.
But if you reach an enemy right after sleeping and are still injured, please leave another comment.
Crafting is better than in the demo but I'd say it would be good to have a real crafting interface instead of going through menu choices, and also being able to crafting several of the same tome at once
