So the game does have rudimentary desktop (non-VR) support. But it's not like Heat; your pointer hand is just fixed to the camera, so you literally have to use the center of your screen to look at menu options and click to change anything and the FOV is pretty restrictive.
Right now, it's just a glorified animation viewer using Unity store models or something. Given that we
are stealing it, I guess that's not too bad for $0. If the dev could add some way to interact with models or their animations I think this could be something worth buying, but right now
