If they wanna make a cheaper version with fewer features, good on them (and those who would find such a version sufficient for their needs). I bet most people don't even export their characters at all since the cloud does that automatically.
Thats true enough for the moment, i mostly just 're-update' the models here and there, replace & load and moved on. But like you said, theyve been at this for 7 years right? Boy, oh boy! Itll only get juicier 'from here' folks! We'll believe innit NOT, just like we all did before. Absolute shocker, everytime! LOL

Or maybe not,...
Indie ""devs"", modern marketing practices, half-baked half-assery, subscription-based 'live-service', tis not cool yall something aint right with those bunch...
...Maybe theyll just pull the plug and call it quits ""midway"", like some of them AAA's were trying to compare this to? Are you trying to give them more pointers? lmao.

Really tho, at this point who cares? Theyve cashed in from the fools already and were mostly pirating it, anyway. We'll just have to see what happens when it does and hang on to what we have till the new ones come up. If were still here, by then...
Still love you, npomme :giggle:

"I wasn't paying before, but now I will ... still definitely not pay!".

... somehow I doubt you're part of their target audience.
Then market this somehwere else pal, youre saying it like its a bad thing...Besides, the feelings are mutual im sure.

Nobody owes nobody nothing, true? So then thank fuck for piracy. Let us BOTH revel ourselves in our own shared perception of negativity...

I guess if there's enough backlash they won't introduce that cheaper tier. After all, they said they were THINKING about it, so it doesn't seem to be set in stone.

But really, that's where people draw the line? Getting a cheaper version? Out of all the things people can be upset about, I wouldn't think this was the straw that finally broke the camel's back, lol.

Nah, i'm past that, its more about - how much lower can they get ?

...Maybe theyll just pull the plug and call it quits ""midway"", like some of them AAA's were trying to compare this to? Are you trying to give them more pointers? lmao.
They already got that AAA CEO mindset, so i don't think they need any advice on that from me lol.

I guess if there's enough backlash
There won't be any, their previous stunt didn't get any, and this one certainly won't be(backlash on here doesn't count, i doubt they care what a bunch pirates think). Supporters of patreon projects are known for their ability to glaze no matter what.

this was the straw that finally broke the camel's back, lol.
No, the final nail on the coffin was the thing that happened when interactions dropped. This is more like a dance on a grave.

Nah the line is long since drawn, and they already did just that with the clusterfuck they did with the animtools release. Now were all just fucking with said camel afterwards LMAO. Its just that theres just so much bad mojo surrounding all of this now that for the lot of us, we cant take them seriously anymore.

Thats about it, really. I mean they ""only"" got SEVEN YEARS to build up peoples confidence. And now look where were at.

TL;DR?
Its really not about having a botched cheaper version, its about how could they ruin the vibes even further from here, because thats about all that were expecting -from what theyve been offering so far-. I mean, come on...Weve been arguing here for how long now? Buddy old pal? I was one of the first who took a dump at this charade, remember? All we ever did from then on till now is repeating the same old songs, cuz neither of us actually listened (or even read the room for that matter. Same goes for the points were tryna make cuz fucking everybody has one.)

Above all, im guessing somebody forgot that 'bUsInEsSEs' still require the (mutual) consent from both parties. And not necessarily about who owes who, and who deserves more, see? Theres a reason digital piracy thrived as much as it did...

jesus i take a break of 3 day and dev do bullshit move ans start planning on selling QOL update and they surely think the update they have done make my crack harder to make but the really i'm just diying in the amount of work i need to do because i'm stupid enough to let that shit pile up until its too late and i need to do it in 2 day instead of 2 weeks....

you know what i drop that here
bool __stdcall YL2_Interaction_Interaction__DownloadFastCharacter_d__82__MoveNext(YL2_Interaction_Interaction__DownloadFastCharacter_d__82_o *this, const MethodInfo *method)

for the one that where trying to make interaction work on older build just check that out with the other class linked to download i will surprise you a bit
i think they dont modify the game enough to make interation broke between build

"(You might have noticed the bulk export command is marked with a "Pro" tag. It's a bit early, but we're essentially thinking of introducing another tier at some point with a cheaper price tag. This cheaper tier would be similar to the current "Enthusiast" tier (up until 2025-03-23). The current "Enthusiast" tier ($12) would be renamed to "Pro" and retain its $12 price. Some features would only be available for this "Pro" tier, such as this bulk export feature. When we have enough of these "Pro" features, we'd introduce the new tier (i.e. rename "Enthusiast" to "Pro", add a new tier "Enthusiast" at cheaper price point but w/o "Pro" features).)"

Im tempted to make another sarcasm post on how they are not just leeching instead of working but at this point these clowns make the jokes themselves.

First they went full on selling service instead of a game with that shitty DRM, where you can lose access to the version you actually bought(fighting piracy>customer). Now they implementing subscription plans. Hmm I wonder what totally ethical business practices this small indie dev team will get themselves into next...
I remember how i argued about that it sounds shady that the DRM can just cut off your access from your game and some argued they wouldnt do that....then lo and behold, the moment your subscription ends your data will be removed from the next cycle and unless you use cracked you literally lose access to your bought game.

Yeah that sucks, though i had a legit patreon sub some time ago. When patreon payment ended i still retained access temporarily, it is tied to some hardware ID or at least that's what they told us then if i remember correctly(from the name of it, it sounds like you should only lose access if you mess with the actual hardware, like changing computer parts or something)

But that's a load of BS. Losing access to paid copy is quite easy. Cleaning your appdata folder where the cache and other stuff for the game is stored was enough, that's how i lost my access i think. Maybe they just dumped that whole idea and gone full - no payment = no access, and i missed that, i dunno.
Well it doesn't really matter that much, in both cases that whole DRM stuff is beyond scummy.

Also the fact that you need to pay 12 bucks monthly to have access to the latest build.

For anyone wondering, let's say you pay 12 bucks in march, you don't have access to builds released 30 days after your last payment.
That's kinda crazy (for me) because each build is an update, not a new product...

... that's not how it works though. Once you have bought a build, you can keep using it forever.

What data are you talking about? What data is it you think is removed?

Yeah, it's known as a subscription.

Not sure what you're expecting here. That they sell the product as a one time purchase? For a userbase of 1000? Good luck, money would last half a month. Needless to say, half a month isn't sufficient for any project of this scope.

FYI, operating costs, LOW END, would be around $19,000 per month for a programmer, a modeller and a bug tester. How they're able to operate at all on $9,000 is a mystery to me. Or how this product can even exist at all for that matter.

Pardon?

I mean excuse me, AI or no AI (we still had to type in shit for AIs to work, right?), operational & technical costs are one thing but its almost as if youre comparing them to literal professionals.

As in, accomplished and educated. With an -actual- bachelors degree on that shit. Yknow, the kind that people and big corpo/companies would actually hire, for real? Unless im missing something?

PLEASE TELL ME im missing something. He did NOT just went there, did he?

WoW you made my day 1746628452625.png jesus fucking christ if only i was paid that much you are in the real world here and that is the paycheck you get if you have full time job wich today is called part time job but with the schedule of the full time with no insurance and no social benefit and a fuck you and see you next time when they do not need you anymore.

the reallity of the market of dev job today is you are disposable unless you are COBOL or really specialised language specialist or ASM junkie so do not dream about a 8000$ job thats not appening and will never append if you are not essential

these dev do not work full time on their project i can't imagine being full time on a project and said project getting that small update like they do

the 3 last update are easy to cobble up in like 1 week 8h / day if youre good with unity could also be made in less that that

1746628492092.png this is where you should increase if they are stupid enough to use paid software that could easily be 2000 to 10 000$ /month and i dont think they have any good and real licence for whatever they use probably cracked like in any fucking small buisness because you cant afford that kind of bullshit subscription plan

1746629231599.png lol are you trying to say to me they rent an office to work and dont do this in their room between 2 gooning session dude common and if they are really 3 or 4 they can easily cut off their expense on rent by renting a big house and cutting rent in whatever number they are so....

dont try to enforce the bullshit model that is subscription based access for any program in this work you should be able to buy 1 time a build or subscribe for periodic update.

And this is not what they do you buy your build have access to it Yeah! no change your processor for X reason or idk your SSD fail YOU ARE FUCKED because you cant pay for a build version.

You paying for a 30 day access to an authentication server that generate a footprint of the computer you use and sign a file with that then the game verify that the said footprint is not modified if its the case it wipe all the authentication token from registry cutting you access to the game and to gain your access back you need to login to patreon and if you are not paying anymore you cant restore access and i can add some windows update can wipe your machine UUID or reset some TPM module data and you are fucked and need to pay again.

so no their buisness model isnt good and you know why because these model are going to crash soon people have less money than before piracy is starting to grow up again for movie and games because people dont have the money for that shit anymore and you will see its going to crash because when you have no money the first thing you remove fromany budget its the monthly expense you make for fun because food and roof on your head is always the priority.

On that literal professionals and business hiring note, i wondered, what are these devs actually ?
I dont think they are an actual business, for that chat GPT yapping "operating costs for a business" to be even somewhat applicable here.

They do not have anything in the game that identifies them as some sort of entity, even when you start many indie games you see like, A game made by "SlopSoft" or something, some kind of "credits" option in main menu. Literally nothing here. Game is made by no one if you don't have the context.
They are "FurryVNE "Team" " on patreon and describe themselves as "We're a small indie studio" but a studio is just a word, you can call your garage a studio it dosen't mean anything much.

So what are they ? Some kind of proprietorship/partnership, self employed freelancers, nothing business related at all ?

If you had just told me "the monthly cost for a indie studio is roughly 19k" I would be skeptical, after the ChatGPT print I straight up don't believe in you.
