Now that I have your attention...hehehe... Actually, This week's discussion is exactly about that. A little while ago, futanari ( futa for short) appeared on the scene. For those who are new and don't know what futa is... Futa is basically characters that usually ( but not always) have a female appearance, but have male genitalia or have both male and female genitalia. There is a plethora of games that you can find with this content. Some stories really use the futa characters in such a way the story benefits from having them. Others, well... How could I put this lightly...Ok, one word comes to mind. Garbage Juice!
However, some see futa as a misrepresentation of transgenders. While others don't care for slapping on a 7 foot long man butter cannon on a 85 lbs waif. To some the idea is repulsive. "If I wanted to see dicks hammering each other, I would play a gay title." they say.
There's no question about these characters being polarizing in stories. Some games are actually going through the effort to make futa content available or unavailable to the player.
So my question this week: What's your take on the subject!

I'm a dyke so dick does nothing for me anyway but if i'm playing a game where dick is needed i'd rather be attached to something that looks feminine.

I'm not a man hating dyke but guys aren't a turn on, at the very least I can find some attraction in a character that looks female so it's tolerable.

Simply put, if I have to see a dick i'd rather it be attached to a woman.

I think the most annoying thing about it is the same for a lot of other niche kinks. You get the idiots that go into threads tagged for futa just to complain about futa. It's the same for those that go into NTR games to complain about NTR or RPGM games to complain about RPGM or no sexual content to complain about no sexual content. It's an endless cycle of stupidity.

There are more than enough games for everyone and not every game is aimed at every player. Some devs make content for niche kinks, some cater to more popular but not all games are meant to be played by everyone.

It's never the kink itself that's the problem it's the people that constantly whine instead of accepting it's not for them and moving on.

Said it once in another thread but this is "supposedly" an adult site yet i've seen a lot of comments that make me question if that person should be here without parental supervision. Those that whine constantly come across like bratty kids.

Futa content is fine, it has it's place and it's fans just like every other kink.

Thanks for your input! I'm gonna be honest, I never thought about the lesbian community when it came to these types of game (such a hetero thing to do lol). Thank you for opening my mind. I would love to have you reply on more topics I've posted or will post. I'm trying to reach across all groups, kinks, likes, etc... on this site so we can get involved and have insightful and mature (sometimes not) discussions. As you can see, I try to be impartial as I can on any given subject. I believe Devs can take note from forums like these when it comes to creating games.

With regards to futa/trans I think most devs make it optional now.

I've not played many games where it's forced on people. I'll agree with something you said in the OP about some handling it well and some not so much.

Dr Amana has a transgender woman recently added, Lola, and did a great job there. The content is optional but she's a great character.

One game I play, Roundscape Adorevia, has numerous futa/trans characters. As far as i'm aware the scenes are avoidable but there are a lot of them so you do miss a lot of scenes by skipping them.

Lunars Chosen is another one that handles futa pretty well as does Dreamwriter and Gates Motel but they are trans again.

To my knowledge, the most well wrote futa, as hermaphrodite character therefore to the strict definition of futanari, is in High School Crush Simulator.

The problem I have is that it's really rare to find a game where the futa character(s) is/are depicted like any other characters (Avaron1974 already named the few exceptions).
When they are in fact transgenders, they are wrote like tortured characters, or ones that pass their life fighting against the system ; there's transgenders like this, but it's not different to cisgenders, there's all the possible personality. That's why I like the one in Gates Motel, it's a transgender that fully accepted what she is, and try to achieve a simple life in accord to her gender. I haven't had the time to play the last Dr Amanda yet, but I trust Avaron's jugdment on this.
And when aren't transgenders, then futa are generally some kind of sex addict that can't think more than two seconds about something else than sex. But finding futa as effectively natural hermaphrodite, it's really exceptional ; you can find some as freaks victim of some experiences, but rarely as born this way.

Another good point! The definition of futa does "require" the character to have both genitalia. By that standard, a lot of futa characters aren't at all.

I agree dickgirls and futanari are becoming synonomous, but is it because the public wants it that way or is it media distributors that are the cause of this? I believe its the media. I have yet to play a game, read a story or watch a more mainstream movie where it's a male with female genitalia.

Of course my tolerance irl is much lower because I only like females, but in games I can even accept traps if they are feminine enough.

Male hetero here, I'm mostly confused about the whole thing. Something that I've noticed though is that the futa/trans community have really good artists and I'm sometimes jealous. Often have I seen the new games/comic (especially comics) updates and seen foxy ladies only to find it has futa/trans content. So it's not for me, great art though. And I like the Idea that whatever your preferences you can find your fix on an erotic site like this one.

Futa are like elves or dwarves or monsters, not part of standard human categories. What pre-established category or behavior pattern they fall into depends on where the dev takes it. You can make them masculine or feminine, just like a elves or any other fantasy race.
I don't see the point of them in general, I associate preferring futas over regular men with homophobia of teen boys.

You can make it interesting like in Proteus effect with the characters being isekaid into different bodies while their original personalities linger. Otherwise it'd be better to stick with regular women & men to better connect with the players expectations of the characters.

It would depend on the genre and fetishes on the game. If it's male dominant I would turn it off, if it's female dominant I would turn it on.

I have an idea for potentially having one in my game, but I think it would definitely be polarizing.

I tried to look up if it's real as my games are always contempary/au but realistic. So the idea behind it was that the character in question would've decided very young that they'd wanted to live as a girl, and started undergoing hormone therapy and estrogen replacements pre-puberty, but when it came to the day of finally getting their penis removed, they decided against it, due to fear of surgery and despite several planned operations it never happened, they always couldn't go through with it because of the fear. 20 years later, they've been taking hormone replacements ever since, voice never broke, no facial hair, natural breasts because of the estrogen, looks, talks, feels like a girl and everybody thinks they are a girl and they lived as one throughout their teenage years and adult life, but secretly they've got the wrong genitalia.

Are they male, or are they female or transgender female, shemale or futa? I still can't even decide myself
