If you play a fresh game, without the save it doesnt let you progress in rank, or at least it doesnt let me and apparently some others.

Start a new game and skip the tutorial, had 3 phone data slots and a lot of tasks available. That got me through the bug
Tasks aren't viewable (a bug fixed in the 1.05.1 update). Skipped the Tutorial to get past the no progression bug, but it's hard to progress blindly. Funnily enough you can still complete the tasks, so I guess you could just continuously do stuff and hope to get lucky. Still, I'd suggest waiting for an update to the version before playing.

Okay... Starting a new game with a skipped tutorial does not work.
Here's what to do. Inside the game folder there is a RAR with a save file. Install this save in the folder C:\Users\yourmom\AppData\LocalLow\Studio Tris. And start a new game with a tutorial where tasks will already be available. Don't thank me. Thank our Lord Sithis

Update: I kept launching the game. Sometimes you can the tasks, sometimes you can't? No real rhyme or reason I can find. Also caused the game to crash, though.

Is the task list supposed to be empty, though? Instead of 1 blank slot from the bugged version, now there's a lot of empty boxes.

I don't think so, probably another issue. Possibly related. I have the same, it seems to be preventing me from getting to level 2. At least, I have the experience but it doesn't let me rank up.

Appreciate the 1.05.1 link, but is there a translation there? Not to be ungrateful but i would prefer to try it with at least MTL. Hope this thread will be updated to a functional build with MTL.

Do the tasks get a checkmark or something when you complete them? I saw the message pop up that said I completed a task, but the list still says I've done none of them and I can't rank up because they aren't being recognized as completed.
Yeah, there should be check marks on the Statistics screen. You also need a certain amount of XP to rank up... but the tasks don't give XP for some reason (which they should) so... it's a bit of a grind. I'd suggest waiting for an update or using the full save.
Yeah, you can't progress to rank 2. Wake me up when the next update comes with translation.
