Hello there,

I was considering making a Ren'py game an I was hoping to get some community input on what genres everybody's into and what sort of game people would like to see.

Dad died or is away from home or is a complete asshole.
Younger sister has always been romantically in love with brother but is shy and unsure of herself while bitch sister is only a bitch because she is repressing her sexual attraction for her brother. Poor neglected mother sees her sons massive morning wood while trying to wake him and realizes her wish for sexual relations with her son.
MC ends up banging all of them separately, eventually they figure it out and there is conflict or not, then they live happily ever after in a harem with all MC's side chicks. The end!

A lot of people are into this because a lot of games are like this.

Don't avoid hot aunts, but seriously don't make MC shorter than his sisters and mother. That shit is genetically ridiculous and pisses me off way more than all the incest.

Seems like the go-to for many game devs who want to get rich quick, a common story that is proven to work. I could probably expand upon it but I don't intend to profit off of it.

Still, as I've never made a VN game before its a great starting point so I thank you for the suggestion.

Yeaaa, I don't really agree with Mother/Son either, I'd do Brother/Sister at a push but its not something I'm totally okay with.

Ah, but the dev could make also the MC to constantly stand on tiptoes, hence making him instantly to grow five inches!

Do something different than what we see everyday on here...We always see incest - mom/son, father/daughter, brother/sister, cousins, aunt/nephew...

If you want to develop an incest game perhaps have it that the family goes on vacation, gives into their simmering sexual tension, then has to come home and deal with/hide the fact that they had sex.

Or start the game with the mom and son already engaged in a sexual relationship, perhaps mom is already pregnant with son's kid.

Or have the whole family involved, if you are okay with developing bi- or gay content, so mom, dad, son, and daughter all are engaged in a sexual foursome.

Try to stand out amongst the deluge of standard incest games.

OR don't develop an incest game. Would be really different if you didn't go that direction.

I've always thought a game centered around a 10 year high school reunion (or 20) could be interesting. You could have flashbacks to when the main character and his friends were in high school, the relationships they had (obviously no sexual content if underage), how they've changed, etc.

Or a game where the player works as a bartender and can have cheap hookups but also could explore trying to have a more serious relationship with people.

I did actually think of a pretty Ok first time game concept last night (Super simplified so it might sound bad on first glance but I don't want to spoil too much);

Basically the MC just finishes a computer science course in college and gets a call from his Uncle to come work for him at his Pharmaceutical Company as a Technician for his office. The job comes with some nice perks, including staying with his uncle at his Mansion, but his Uncle isn't alone there. 4 Attractive women who happen to also be under his employ because he's a pretty chill philanthropist. (No I don't intend to include the Uncle in any of the sexual bits, he's mostly included for comedic relief)

The game will have a very noticeable split in the story at times being Whimsical and Humorous, and at others being Sensual and Sexual.

Even if the game goes full porn, a concept is too few to make something interesting enough for the game to be played. Even 70's to 90's porn movies had a story. It was generally a really basic one, like by example "a young girl bored during her holiday week at her grand-mother house", but at least it gave some sense to the movie and permit to offer something more than just a bunch of sex scenes without links between them.
The MC need to have a motive, and "fuck everyone in the house", isn't enough of a motive. He need to have a reason to do that, whatever if it's because he's 25 and still a virgin, because he hate all the girls in his family, as long as it's not just something that come from nowhere.

There's two imperative when you make a game :

Firstly, you need to give you a reason to continue ; and, no, "I want to earn some money" isn't a good enough reason. Making a game need time, it cost money (at least at first), and it's drain your energy. Having a story to tell, and wanting to tell it until the end, is mandatory. Few people achieve to succeed despite this, but they are exceptions and two hands is enough to count them.
Also, knowing this story before hand, at least the big parts of it, is what will help you to continue. You've a goal, the story have an end, and you need to reach it.

Secondly, you need to give the players a reason to continue. And here it's, "there's sex" that isn't a good enough reason ; all games here have or will have sex. Once again, it's the story that give this reason ; at least if it's something interesting enough for the player want to know how it end.
It don't need to be a complicated story with mystery and all. By example, a game like Midlife Crisis have a really basic story. The MC is fourtish years old and decide that he don't care anymore about moral ; he'll fuck any woman and girl that agree to it, whatever their age, gender and if they are or not related to him. Add his wife that slowly agree to follow him in this path, and the player have a reason to continue playing. This reason being, "will he succeed to convert his wife to this new life". We (players) know that he'll surely succeed, but we want to know how far he'll succeed and what he'll do for this.

I appreciate your concern but I don't plan to make a game that has the MC show up and bang everything that moves like in some games. There will be a story but it will be my first game so please don't expect a Triple AAA title.

My reason is that I've browsed enough games that I want to create my own to do with how I wish, it might drain my energy but its a fun project and it doesn't actually cost me any money. I did think about making a Patreon but that would only be for people who wish to donate and support me, the game will be forever free and no content will be behind paywalls, the Patreon rewards would be like; Custom Renders, Polls on what characters to focus on in upcoming chapters etc...

Like I've posted above there is going to be two main themes of the story, a whimsical and humorous side with plenty of comic relief and memes, then there will be a serious and more adult rated side with things for people to fap to appreciate.
