My impression is that one could have a dedicated "pornfunding" site, but the overhead will be greater, esp. with regard to transaction processing, because it's considered high risk and has a high chargeback rate(e.g., embarrassed patrons canceling when it shows up on their statement and the spouse asks uncomfortable questions). ACH payments might be a viable alternative to CC transactions. Still need a processor, though.

The irony is you are correct on that we did get approved for ACH but the TX fees were 15% and they have to hold a reserve. think it was the same ACH company that does it for Pornhub too and all the CC providers said it was a double risk because it was crowdfunding and Porn. plus the taboo content took it over the top for them

Nobody is forced to make vanilla games, only to exclude a few specific fetishes from being done improperly.

If you're serious about being a game developer, you should have your own web site.
Some of the commercial game sites will pay you to advertise, and you can do other things to make the site profitable.

There is a lot you can do with your own website, for example: accepting payments without the racketeers taking a huge cut.
You can swap banners with other game developers, cross linking their visitors to your site, and your visitors to their site.
Link your dev site in the f95 game thread, put a banner link up on sites that list adult games. Link all your game's social media / youtube chanel to your website. Fans like it when they can tweet sweet nothings at their game waifu


You can open a store on your site and do direct sales, and merchandising. Sell your game DVD, limited edition T-shirts, and coffee mugs, fans will buy art / prints through DeviantArt, amazon and ebay as well.

Action figures, collectables, figurines, plushies, of all your game characters... bumper stickers. 3D printed models.

A game DVD. The point of Patreon and others is That people need to raise funds to make their game. it's not that easy to get a payment processor on your own for adult games. Plus putting a bunch of developers under one site you can do more CC volume which leads to cheaper CC rates. merchandising, not really a new idea. seems your modal is a copy of the Japenese Eroge modal. We can't release complete games have to do it in monthly or Bi-monthly updates. Calling me a racketeer is a bit offensive as well. also, these days, if you do a physical release, should be on a USB Stick. Most computers built now have no disk drives.

If a fan can download the game in the development stages, through F95, it's a bonus. Those who want to help fund you in the development of the game can order the DVD in advance.

Even excluding all the censorship issues the 10% Patreon takes is completely ridiculous then they have the audacity in their blog posts to mention how generous they are being by only taking that amount.
