VN - Ren'Py - Game of Hearts [Ch.4 P2 R1] [SparkHG]

Not my cup of tea. The MC is supposed to be a demon but you just don;t have any choice to make him a bit ruthless. He's always a protective white knight.

The story isn't too bad, but it is fed to you through constant exposition. A case of telling not showing. I love reading, but I ended up pressing space quickly because nothing was happening. I don't mean no action. I mean nothing. You're passively listening to someone's story 90% of the time.

It's sad because the sex scenes are nicely done. They are very vanilla (not really my thing in ero games), but made interesting by having a gamey system where you gain points, spend influence and raise corruption/attraction.

Too bad that all of this does not impact the story at all, except for a few swapped line. The game could at least pretend the MC has a different persona depending on corruption/attraction, but it doesn't even do that, you'll always be a goody two shoes.

[As of Chapter IV] This is amazing. It is very strong in terms of overall production, but the best thing is the intimate and sinful story the game tells. It is beyond me how the developer managed to make such a masculine power-trip of a game feel heartfelt and kind. Bravo.

Do I have to voice my concerns? I'm afraid that the over-arching story may get out of hand in the future. As we learn more about the demon-world, it may be too easy for the developer to substitute the personal story with some silly grand scheme of things. Still, I belive in SparkHG!

So, I will not call this game bad but it is just not for me... There are two big problems for me in this game.

One would be the story. Like I love reading it is a hobby of mine but this one it feels like nothing is happening. Like I want to know the world, the sucsesion war, demons and go on but no I am trapped in a home and making a porno while getting dropfed info. It just feels strange to me.

Two will be the girls but that is a opinion of taste. I don't like the two FML the other two that have nearly no screen time are hotter but the BIGGEST thing a LOT more intresting then the other two. Meredith is just not intresting same as the first lead because it just feels like it is happening.

Just not my cup of tea but will say to all people try it out.

Lovely writing and very interesting characters.
The scenes are top tier, the amount of detail and care it's mesmerizing.
I didn't quite get mechanics and the different stats implications so to me they feel unnecessary.
The MC it's kinda cool, I like the assertive approach because of his gift.

Meredith damn hot.

Quite interesting,,want to see where it leads with the conflicted mind of the MC between his demonic ascendancy and his genuine love for his girls.
Your choices have impact on your relationships with three girls you're involved with with a clever RPG like use.
The graphic are truly well done and the choice to have mature and more "normal" girls insted of the whole supermodel deviancy is such game is a major plus.
I've appreciated the writing and the relationships waved between MC and the two primary girls, Maxime and Meredith, the building of desire and, again the conflict in Meredith's mind.

Not a game I don't regret playing. Two of the three LIs are bleh - not very attractive, and have no personality. And you're forced to be with them. The sex scenes are uncompelling. Worst, the protagonist, despite his irresistible charm, can only get laid by ruining marriages. Why? If you're into that, fine, but it's a niche thing, yet it dominates the game, at least as far as I was willing to play - it's clearly written to cater to that fetish, but isn't labelled as such.

The game looks fantastic, the dialogue is well written and the plot seems intriguing. The sex scenes being somewhat gamified is interesting and novel, but we will have to see how that system holds up in future updates.

The real draw of this game is the characters. Each is unique in looks and behaviour, and unlike most AVN's, they really come alive DURING the erotic scenes. Most AVN's have scenes as a sort of "reward" for getting enough "relationship points" whereas this game uses the sex scenes to further develop the characters and your relationship with them.

Very excited to see more.

This is probably one of my favorites. The son of a powerful demon is tasked by his father to gather followers so he can gain power for an approaching demon war. The sex content itself is basically the definition of eroticism. I don't see many VN's like this. And while Im not a fan of Agheo it doen't take away from it too much.

Quite good overall. There's a -lot- of player agency in how the girl(s) are approached and handled, and manipulated to reach the goal the player sets. It allows for a ton of freedom in scenes which is a very welcome experience.

Only drawbacks for me are: too few girls, and too short of a story/experience. But that's just indicative of how early in the game's development it is. With time and effort, both can be solved. And lastly, Meredith literally -always- has a distressed look on her face, even when in the rapture of orgasms. I'd highly recommend changing that so she's more of a fulfilled woman who doesn't look like someone just murdered her cat, every hour of every day.

Very worthy of a play, and of support. Would easily give it a 4.5+ rating.

A pretty good game as is.

Story is cool and characters are interesting and attractive.

Few nitpicks:

• Could use some proofreading/editing to make the dialogue flow better
• Adding a gallery would be nice
  • The attraction/corruption/caution system might make that difficult
• An option to turn on the little shortcut menu at the bottom would be nice

All said and done, this is a pretty good game. It's worth a follow.

[Review for CH4 P2 R1]
Genuinely one of the only 3DCG VNs I like on this site. The art is beautiful, and the animations are well done. The characters all come off as well rounded without being insufferable.
Its definitely a slow burn, and rather wordy, but the story is clearly thought out. The actual grammar could be proofread, but I don't find it a make or break issue.
I think the dev tried adding some SFX with this latest version, which I am fully in support of. Looking forward to how it progresses.

Each Chapter Is Better than the Last! I Became a supporter on patron after playing this update and i'm excited to see how the game develops. The only thing missing so far is a Gallery. My first play through was raw and exciting it took me about 90 min. my second i had a lot of fun exploring the Alt path took about 30min. Thanks for the work the art is very good!

Glad I've found this game. Its just amazing! It doesn't hook up from the first scenes. But it opens up so great after that, the evolution and behaviour of characters, designs and gameplay. Superb. Thank you

AAA VN. Models are fantastic, good animations, good story, good writing, plenty of player choices. Almost every aspect is top notch. And on top of all of that, there is a ton of content for a VN thats only been in the works for a year.

A great imersive porn game that has characters that bring fresh air to the scene, its a wonderfull adition to my colection.
+ A game that dont shy away of being a porn game.
+ Good sex scenes with some interactivity and mechanics.
+ Characters that dont make me think im playing ither game, in design and personality.

Storytelling
I'm genuinely blown away by the dev's ability to carefully weave multiple subplots together in such a way that they become the main plot. It's NYTimes best selling author levels of writing that I can't praise enough due to how each subplot builds on itself while also methodically bringing in the next subplot. It all culminates in an overarching theme that leaves you questioning every decision you make, which is something almost no other mainstream VN has done to date (aside from the non-sexual ones).

Renders
This might be a bit more obvious, but the renders in this VN are top teir - probably top 5 if I had to give a ranking. However, there are a few areas where attention to detail would've benefited the dev greatly, especially regarding the clipping on some of the outfits for the main LIs. Additionally, the Ahegao style facial features have a tendancy to rip me out of the overall fantastic immersion created by the characters and story.

Characters
If you ever wanted a textbook example of how to use a character sheet when writing a novel, this dev is it. Every character that's appeared in the story has a strict personality with clear motives and goals behind their actions. The clearest example is Julia - a half-demon (I think?) - who tends to be evasive and scheming each time we have a conversation with her. However, it's slowly revealed - through mistakes on her part and through other characters - that she has an intense loving connection to the MC which affects the decisions she makes as she prioritizes him over everything else.

The other cast of characters - especially the LIs - all have similar levels of attention with each having a unique personality that adds to experience. It also adds to the emotions the dev is trying to elicit form the player by making you genuinely question whether using your unique powers to "corrupt" their hearts is something you're willing to do despite the cirucmstances if you don't.

Lewd Content
This is the only source of disappointment I have with the VN stems from. When a dev makes the decision on whether they're going to create an adult themed VN or not, the lewd scenes are a huge factor in the overall enjoyment.

So, rambling aside, why am I disppointed with the lewd scenes here? It stems from the stylistic choice by the dev to use awkward camera angles alongside stiff animations. The combination of both means that you're hardly left satisfied as you're left wondering: "what the fuck kind of position are these two in?". The only positive I have to say is that it seems as though this is slowly being improved upon each update as Chapter 4 has some of the best lewd scenes so far.

Gameplay (Major Spoilers)
This is a new section primarily unique to this VN specifically due to how the choices and lewd content are implemented. The general idea is that your choices absolutely do matter, and the powers you pick can adversly affect how successful you are in lewd scenes.

To elaborate on that last point: the dev has implemented a rather unique approach to lewd content in that you gain "demonic power" for each point you increase. There are two main paths you can take when "corrupting" an LI, which are not mutually exclusive: corruption, or attraction. Attraction appeals to a gentler, more loving side of the MC as you focus on making your partner feel comfortable and ensuring they climax as much as possible. Corruption, on the other hand, prioritizes pushing boundaries and exploring different kinks without too much care about how your partner feels. Once you reach a certain amount of attraction/corruption points you increase it's level, which alters future scenes with said character.

Demonic points are the currency used by the dev for different powers which make future lewd scenes easier to navigate. For example, you can make it easier to gain arousal with your partner, or start with a level of arousal right of the bat. This matters a great deal as each upgrade helps you to gain more attraction/corruption points, which in turn generate more demonic points and vastly improve the process of making your partner dependant on you.

That ties into the wider picture regarding how much your choices affect the story, and - by extension - the relationships you will have with each LI. Each character has their own desires and preferences which they hint at during conversations. If you fail to pick up on that then the relationship you have with said character will suffer: either in terms of their love towards you, or their overall desire to help you survive the upcoming events. The main theme of the story centers on the fact that YOU don't have to stick to the status quo, and in several instances you're rewarded for focusing on your humanity rather than giving in to your demonic side.

Overall, the gameplay mechanics at work behind the scenes are already more complex than every single top rated VN out there (with very few exceptions). There isn't a clear path forward for you to get the "best" outcome as that's purely subjective based on your personality. This section played the largest role in why this VN received a perfect score despite the lewd scenes being disappointing.

Wow, how did I miss this? This game has great art, great writing, an interesting, mysterious story, great pacing... it's easily in the Top5 of games here.

On top of that, the sex scenes are integral to the story in a way that is super interesting and they never feel like they are tacked on for effect.

I'd give this 6 Stars if I could. No one should miss this. Regardless of preferences. It is THAT great.

Also, consider supporting them. Few are as worthy of this as this Dev is.

Excellent game. One of the best games here. The graphics and dialogues are very nice. I hope it continues in the same way. The choices affect the course of the game and the emotional changes of the characters are also very good. You should give this game a chance.

I'm interested enough in the narrative and for the most part the writing isn't terrible, but it tends to ramble on and get somewhat repetitious. Y'all could stand to break out a thesaurus, is all I'm saying. Also spelling / grammar errors are fairly abundant.

However the renders are pretty good and I appreciate the balancing act involved in the choices you make during intimate scenes. I don't know if there's actually failure states or alternative routes that might play out if you do things 'wrong' but paying attention to those bars at least made me feel like I was doing something.

Anyway - I enjoyed it and will be keeping an eye out for future updates.
