Just a bit of the post update

SparkHGStudio

Hi! It's been more than a month(more or less) since the last update. Too long, I'd say. But despite the holidays and my job, December's been a decent week, and I've done another decent chunk toward further progress .....
...I plan to release Beta part two in February, Ideally on Valentine's Day. No promises yet, but I will not delay it until March unless I really can't finish it.

Thank you for your unending support!

Dev's thoughts in those previews are kinda worrying. If he wants to avoid the dark tone in the future, what's even the point of corruption choices/mini game? Just make it linear with a forced goody two shoes "demon but not demon" boy and call it a day. Players who pick those kinda of choices, obviously have no problem playing an amoral MC cucking dudes and corrupting married women.

Taking that element out in the future makes this yet another fantasy-themed harem collector. And those are a dime a dozen. Proper corruption themed games can't avoid dark themes.

Honestly sounded to me like he's fine with some darkness, but just not that particular type or amount of it compared to balancing it with lighter elements. You can still have dark or corruption paths without specifically including netori, if the dev isn't feeling it. I'd rather a dev recognize when they aren't enjoying working on their project and make changes to stay motivated rather than burn out and abandon a game, personally.

I think the dev is very much fine with netori. But the final scene with Tommy watching requires him to step into his shoes to write down his thoughts, and that must be brutal.
Also an excellent point! Especially if the guy having it done to him isn't particularly evil or something. I imagine that'd be hard to emotionally step into.

tbh I initially assumed this situation was going to resolve it naturally in some (porn logic) way. Like Tommy's secretly into it, or just feels he can accept that Meredith (and he) need a new start and although it's hard, they'll both better for it (or whatever), or there's some outside third-party that ultimately forces "something" on them so they got no choice ... I was quite surprised how manipulative the game got after the first initial setup.

And while I'm at that, and not having written my impressions yet: the opening is perhaps the best thing I've played on this page. It's great. Solid writing, great visuals, and I do like a bit of a points-gathering game.
I also do specifically like that it's not some sort of edgelord demon thing. Just some dude trying to figure things out and not be an asshole about it.

I thought it got a bit weaker after that. The "newer girls" feel more rushed, the situation more contrived, and personally (mileage will wary obviously) I found for example the Nero stuff just ... trite. Like exactly the sorta thing this game previously managed to avoid basically ^^;
Also it felt dialogue got a bit more clunky, with a few more mistakes and such.

Still pretty good though.

At the very least I want to see how the Meredith situation is resolved ^^

I suspect there will be at least one path where Tommy realizes he's secretly into it. The dev hinted as much in one of the dev logs. Maybe, for example, the Seduction path where you also told Tommy the truth about talking to Meredith or something.

But it definitely sounds like that won't be the case on all paths, and some of those might be quite a bit darker.

I'd argue the main draw of the game was netori with supernatural elements. All you need to do is browse the first pages here on release. You'll see many referencing an older abandoned game with very similar theme and how glad they are someone is doing something like that again. And it already is balanced with lighter elements. Half of it involves scenes with the demon girls that are very vanilla, with no taboo element at all.

Of course devs should be making whatever they want, but it wouldn't be the first time a creator completely misunderstood what the majority likes about what they make. It happens all the time in mainstream games or even other media too.

Eh, main draw for me was harem and the LI models.

Obviously people are drawn to games for different reasons, but I'm definitely part of the crowd that would enjoy the game just as much without the netori element.

I like the LIs and the harem setup. I like the supernatural elements and how they're represented in sex scenes, even with the demon girls. And I enjoy the seduction/corruption system too.

Obviously if the dev chooses to avoid netori content in the future, it's not great for the people that are here mainly for that and I do empathize since it does represent a shift in focus. But for me personally I'd enjoy it just as much if Meredith was resisting the corruption for other reasons or a similar setup occurs in the future but without netori.

I don't even mind netori, I just don't need to watch a (not that bad dude honestly) get ground into a pulp. The netori in something like GH is much more my speed. I don't enjoy watching people's misery... now if Meredith's husband (forgot his name) was a shit heel, it'd be different, but it seems like he's just a dude.

I love the game so far. Personally, would not mind having the option of making Meredith's husband into a "gurl" and pleasing an alpha male in a very subservient position. Everyone should really know their place in these situations...:)
