Games where you can (ideally at any point during the game) change the appearance of the characters (not just your playable character). Maybe their name and some traits as well. A tame example of this would be Something Unlimited, where you can change the clothes of the characters. A more powerful example would be a game where you can change it all at any time. Or rather than changing all the characters, sometimes the way it works is that there's virtually an unlimited amount of characters so you can basically "reroll" until you get the type you want (like in The Imperial Gatekeeper or in Lilith's Throne). Or you just create your characters and they become immediately or eventually available like in Brothel King. In this regard I don't mind if the game as a robust visual system to support this customization, or is just a text game where you select attributes/an image-based game where you select an image file from your computer to represent the character.

Games where it's not a very linear story but rather you basically shape the narrative. Or there's a main story but also a sandbox aspect you can prioritize (like in Lilith's Throne or Brothel King).
