Agree.
Overall I think Steam's system for rating is better, where it takes into account "recent reviews" and separates them from older one. This is especially useful in cases where the game is early access or still in development.
Because most people have different scales for different aspects of the game, the numeric score doesn't really represents well the score of the game compared to a binary decision of recommendation or not.
Yeah there are a ton of games where there there is a gamut of recent negative reviews or vice versa. Would be cool to be able to filter

I honestly don't put too much stock into reviews. If I see a game I'm not familiar with then I check the number of likes it's received (assuming it's not a first release) and then I head over to the game description. If the game description + Art Style sale me then I check it out. The game also needs to have either the tags of Vaginal Sex or Anal Sex... no reason to play a porn game without actual sex lol. I'll write a review when a game is complete and if it left an impression on me. The only exception to that is when I try a game and it's so bad that I can't help myself, but that rarely happens. My advice is just take most reviews with a grain of salt since anyone can write one, and usually the most honest ones are the ones who rate a game 4 or 2 stars... they'll usually tell you what kept it from being a 5 star game or what saved it from being a 1 star game.

Just read the game discussion. People often rate without knowing how to play and losing features of the game.
