So I was playing Last Evil and genuinely enjoying the gameplay loop (granted I loved slay the spite). Was wondering what games are considered good for the genre that I wouldn't just want a full save of. Or rewarding gameplay that makes you want to keep playing

Karryn's Prison would be decent enough, though there are plenty of unintuitive mechanics and too much RNG for my liking. But coupled with the DIY corruption, it's one of my most played ero-games.
Corrupted Saviors. While the multiplier-based strategy combat is something I likely wouldn't have had the patience to learn without the corruption carrot being dangled in front of me, it's definitely one of the more rewarding games and has tons of replay value for me already.
The Last Sovereign is a very solid classic RPGM experience gameplay-wise as far as I played.
Naked Ambition is an adult version of games like Princess Maker.
Lust & Power has decent enough combat and resource management.
On Edge is still very early, but looks quite promising in terms of gameplay.

You should try Once in a life time the best of the best! Well balanced super game.
Karryn's Prision is great! just struggle a bit at deciding if I want a dom or sub route, both look appealing but pretty different.
Lost Sovereign is one of the ones that got me into porn games so another great choice.
Defs checking the others after those two reccs. Downloaded corrupted saviours today and was a bit overwhelmed but in a good way, feels like a legit deep game. but On Edge looks right up my alley!
The other posts I will defs check out, its rare a renpy game wows me with gameplay but will definitely at least try all of these, thanks!

The Imperial Gatekeeper - a clone of Papers, Please. It's the same minigame that involves attention to detail but I found it entertaining.
The Rance games of course, but Rance 6 in particular is fun. Visual novel + turnbased combat + 3D grid based exploration (like Legend of Grimrock)
SiNiSistar - my favorite h-game sidescroller, probably only enjoyable if you're into the darker fetishes (violence/rape), a pretty simple hack n' slash but is polished with excellent pixel art.

Thanks for the reminder on imperial gatekeeper, papers please was great and just forgot this existed! As for sinistar, I have played it before but don't remember if there's many female enemies? Side scrollers I tend to lean towards female enemies but I feel like I only remember male(ish)/monster enemies.

It's been a while since I've played it too but as far as I remember the majority of the h-scenes are from enemy defeats that are male or some weird form of monster. I want to say there may be one or two female enemies but they're definitely rare if they do exist. I almost didn't include it in my list since its gameplay isn't exactly groundbreaking but it has such a nice, creepy vibe to it that reminds me of Bloodborne.
Speaking of that type of vibe, I guess I'll mention Demon's Sperm, another high quality sidescroller with some nice weapon variety and level design. Little or no female enemies though.
You may have already played it but Alien Quest: Eve does have some female enemies and probably the best gameplay out of most hentai sidescrollers, it's a pretty fleshed out metroidvania but I still like SiNiSistar better than the sci-fi Metroid/Axiom Verge thing that Eve has going on.
I've played some grimhelm games and while the animations are really good, combat felt clunky and slow. I figure this one is better?

Rance is the cultured choice and has a story spanning over 3 rl decades with completely different gameplay for each game. Like strategy games where you take land and balance your kingdom? Play Sengoku Rance or Kichikou Rance. Like a linear story with turn-based Final Fantasy esq combat? Play Rance 6. Want a fuck around Dragon quest like game? Play Rance Quest Magnum. Want grid based combat with a focus on romance play Rance 9 (Entirely edited just needs to be fully translated) Want to play the game that literally has the most dialogue out of any game in the world by a longshot that you could beat 15 different times and still discover new shit play rance 10 (Also currently being translated.) Rance is easily my favorite game and the mc is hilarious in the most unconventional way possible. The Rance world is very intricate with a lot of food for thought and can be very dark. Everyone in the world needs to at least try it.

I personally love Portals of Phereon. One of my favourite games actually. Might be a bit complex for everyone tho
