Hello

I'm looking for a game that's close to the quality of Long Live the Princess when it comes to writing characters and storylines.
I'm a bit tired of of thin characters, and Long Live the Princess made me realise I could be playing porn games with great writing to keep me engaged even when there is no porn on screen.

What would your recommendations be on that front ?
Preferably a game with corruption, choices, different story paths or scenes to unlock, maybe a mystery to solve, etc.
With chracters that are believable physically (I'm not into larger-than-life breasts and ass, or bimbo-faces), again, Long Live the Princess is a great exampe of that done well

One example that comes, close is Dr. Amana, Sexual Therapist, with some great characters like the daughter and her shy best friend which act believably for the most part (especially the best friend, some of her reaction really surprised me). But everything in this game still revolves around sex, so the writing gets over-bearing sometimes and it makes me want to skip dialogue.

I hope you can help me :D

Jufot maintains a list of games with good stories / writing here.
If you're looking for good writing it has some really strong titles in the op, and there are many good suggestions in the thread.
Thank you ! This is certainly a list I will look into

However, their strict criteria severely limits the kind of stories that can be told and would still qualify as well written.
For example within their framework, mind control fetish games aren't possible so Long Live the Princess wouldn't qualify since it uses mind control magic to "speed up" character relationships and lead to sex scenes that aren't plot-relevant.

The type of games they accept in their list isn't exactly what I'm looking for at the moment, but I will check those out eventually !

You'll find most of these in that topic, but I'll post them here. Mind control games don't have great stories most of the time because the control is often all or nothing and that instantly takes the tension out the story, Long Live the Princess is far more subtle than the typical game in the genre.
Sanguine Rose
Jessica O'Neil's Hard News
Luna's Fall From Grace
Kingdom of Deception
Vae Victis
Defending Lydia Collier
Halfway House
Take Over (cause you wanted mind control and corruption, I think the story and the characters do take a hit from it)

Good writing but with hardly any corruption:
Sorcerer
Bad Memories

With more humour in the mix:
Once in a Lifetime
Rainy Day

I haven't played that game or a single one from that list, but I can list my favorites from the 2D/RPG/gameplay-focused side of the coin in terms of writing, as opposed to 3D VNs.

Sierra Lee games (The Last Sovereign, Kingdom of Deception).
Pyorgara games for maledom.
Accidental Mind for a really good, if entirely text-based, mind-control/corruption story.
Star Knightess Aura for the best implementation of mind-control and slow corruption I've seen, albeit with a very anime story/characters/dialogue and only 1/4 to completion so far.
Ruin Me for an actually positive depiction of BDSM (male/female/futa MC, female love interest) and Lovecraftian horror.
Oh, and iNSight of you for one of the funniest games I've played, almost entirely animated 3D and mind-control(ish) themes with things like orgasm denial and implanting fetishes.

Late to the party, but IMO of the three best-written H-game around only one of them is mentioned so far (The Last Sovereign). Here are the other two:

* Take a look at Lessons in Love if you want dark, deep and moody
* Check out Out Of Touch if you want beautiful, satisfying, and bright.

In some way those two games are polar opposites, but in others they are similar (both have excellent Koi art with beautiful characters, some artfully hilarious humor, and reliable-as-a-clock release schedules.)
