I see. It feels like such game would take less than 20000 lines of code in C++, machine code is non-trivial to hack, less overhead too.

Ain't nobody programming games in plain language. Much less C++. No such thing. Whoever tries making a game more complex than snake in pure c++ would end up in a sanatorium very fast

There are certainly indie games written in C++ with some libraries (SDL etc.), for example, FTL, but yeah, there are good reasons not to code in C++ I guess, mostly speed of development.

Well I'll have to wait for the game to be reprogrammed to another engine before I can truly play it. FYI Godot is OK and can confirm to play it.
