Almost all these devs have a patreon or equivalent, they can still like the idea, but they have made it a product. Nothing wrong with wanting paid for your work and you're not living in reality if you think all but a handful of devs don't think that way. Pure Passion projects exist but they are the extreme minority.It really is incredibly sad that your entire process of thought is just "Give me money. Which demographics can give me the most money? Only do things for those people. Anything else means I don't get as much money, which is a very bad thing"
Have you ever made anything just because you liked the idea of it? That you had something that you wanted to see exist? Or do you only do things to cater to whoever pays you the most cash?
The other guy was right, it's stupid for most devs to stretch themselves thin. These games aren't made by large teams, know your audience, fortunately for most devs that's people who share their tastes.
