Why is she responsible if people don't want to live in any of those Kingdoms? It's not like people living there are innocent outcasts that are banished. Living in the buffer zones is a choice. I have the feeling that you all overestimate the influence the queen has other the other kingdoms. She has a lot of soft power but if she oversteps and the other nations start to rebel, things could become real ugly for everyone. And her first priority lies with the safety of her own citizens and kingdom before anything else.

My take is that the Kingdoms in GG are essentially living in a period equivalent to the Cold War.
Queen Orphelith, being the wise and experienced ruler, is doing her best to keep the Nukes (read: Giantesses) from launching.
The fact that each Kingdom possesses these Weapons of Mass Destruction (read: Giantesses) is the only reason that all-out Nuclear War hasn't yet happened.
And she's been doing a balancing act of trying to appease all of the chief Atomic Bombs (read: Giantesses) as best as she can lest they explode in revolt.
By employing a Nuclear Deterrence Strategy, Queen Orphelith has been avoiding/delaying the Nuclear Fallout as much as possible, which would inevitably lead to extremely high tiny casualties, both inside and outside the Kingdoms.

First of all: MERRY CHRISTMAS / FELIZ NAVIDAD!! Now, the Cold War thing is very well laid out. Homernia would be like the Soviet Union or some other strong opponent (Yakuu's latest update confirms this, using the princess as a scapegoat for one of his plans... malevolent)

Interesting arguments. This reminds me of a certain villain from Naruto, who was born, raised in, and lived a life of suffering due to being in the equivalent of a buffer zone, him and his people treated as a sort of release valve and expendable fodder for everyone else in the story. Which then results in him majorly fucking everybody and everything up in the quest for a painless world.
Is there somebody like that in GG? Oh wait...
