as far as i'm aware, marg and kive both live in the kingdom of timfalme even if it's in the outskirts of town. Sure they're not in the actual castle, but I would still count them as part of the overall kingdom.

so yeah, the problem is probably the game files. Either you're somehow messing up the installation or the version of the game you're downloading is borked.

Well, true, but, unlike any other route, they don't have strict connections towards the kingdom they are in. Kive kind of changed that by interacting with the prison guards and stuff, but generally nothing would change if you put them on the outskirts of, I dunno, Keisiema or Viridice. That is different for routes like Eliette, Madea or Croixelle for example, where the place itself is actually involved in the story, or at least deeper than just the fact that they're there.
Their domains are literally under the control of Timfalme, though. That's like saying a rural area is not under the control of a country because it's far away from the capital.
About time, it was inevitable the moment she said she'd be keeping him close for the time being.
I will laugh my ass off if her route ends up being just like Croixelle's
