Good time of being to all people of culture gathered here, guided by one idea - love for giantesses!

I discovered the amazing world of "Giant Guardians" relatively recently and completely by accident, thanks to one site that allows you to get acquainted with visual novels and other video games in advance.
I have not been so captivated by reading a visual novel for a long time. I fell asleep with thoughts about what I had read and woke up with thoughts about it, I thought about it during my physical training at home, while eating and while working.

I learned about this site a few days ago and I became curious to read the discussions here about this visual novel: at the moment I have read all the comments from the first page to the two hundred and twenty inclusive (I will continue to read).
And I learned something unexpected and new for myself, I read busy hypotheses about certain events of the lore, the actions of the characters and their reasons.
I also learned that in the past this novel had about fifteen more giantesses (approximately) and short routes with them in the main story, then they were moved to the "guest" category. The development of these routes was suspended, and then they were completely "cut" (I believe for an indefinite time).
Is there any reliable information about the reasons for this decision?

What surprised me most was the information that despite the presence of such an ambitious project, the developers decided to simultaneously make another game about giantesses... I don't know all the details, but it seems to me that this decision is destructive for "Giant Guardians" and adds to the likelihood of developer burnout, decreased productivity in terms of releasing updates and fixes/improvements for "Giant Guardians".

What do you mean the last periodic update of Madea was 18 months ago? How time flies!

Well said, as you said, for me it's counterproductive to have 2 projects with only... 2 people? It's a work that has potential for more, but with such a small staff, I'm worried I'll get old without seeing the end of the story XD.

Speaking of which, what do you think of the guest characters? What did you think of the novel? Its pros, its cons, and what score would you give it?

No way, you quoted correctly this time?!

On topic: It's more like 3 if you're counting from both VNs. Arty works onboth, while AIK and hoshi draw for GG and Nezumicon respectively.

I think saying that Kendra is unaware of it or wouldn't support it is definitely false. Kendra herself has voiced out many times that she wants to bring the heaven kingdom down.
Aside from that, Kendra was the one who caused the heaven kingdom to dilapidate like that, she DEFINITELY knows that the heaven kingdom is falling and she DEFINITELY knows how the heaven kingdom moves(location). And she also DEFINITELY knows what'll happen if the heaven kingdom falls. In fact, I would even say that her revenge might've even involved Yakuu.
You know what I'm wondering though? I feel like Timfalme is likely to decline a war between the Heaven Kingdom and Homa.
We gotta be real, Maryen is in no state for a war. And homa would in theory have Kendra+Nyxmay(as a result)+Yakuu+Pyeka+Makla+Countless of other giantesses that are just as strong or stronger than the Keishima ones and all that vs Eliette+Bevzy+(etc), feels like a slaughter even if Eliette is a beast herself. Also the fact that keishima is falling apart in more ways than the literal way(the religious war for example).

The thing is that Eliette doesn't seem worried at all and her first action was to pray. Which makes me wonder if she can summon deities to help in war, in which case the numbers matchup doesn't matter. Divine intervention is a literal deus ex machina that can destroy the plot, so maybe she can only call on them as a last resort or something.

Nono, Maryen is in peak form for war:

When asked how she felt about taking the lives of 10,000 Homespermiam, Great General Maryen replied:

"I don't know. I just led some worms back to the dirt where they belong."

She’s previously referred to the Homespermia Colosseum as “a giant bowl that never quite lived up to its potential” and then promptly filled it to the brim with the blood and bodies of the locals.

The spectacle was enough for General Yaaku to declare the whole ordeal “sick” and “absofuckinglutely the kind of war she signed up for, and forced everyone to sign up too"

The Heaven Kingdom’s initial reluctance to commit to full scale genocidal war evaporated instantly after a nationwide broadcast of Kendra twerking someone to death while casually eating another man raw like a party snack.

A “Friday party trick,” she called it , though it was not Friday, not a party, and definitely too lethal to be considered a trick.

The footage prompted Guardian Eliette to respond with a new plan: “We are levitating on 90 gigatons of floating rocks , and I have an idea.”
Great General Maryen? What's next, Supreme Leader Eliette?

Yes, it looks especially strange against the background of the fact that more than ten giantesses and their routes were removed from the main story, the development of their storylines was suspended, and then they were completely removed from the main game in order to optimize the process of developing the main story, its development and the characters in it (my assumptions) and this makes sense.

But here against this background a second project appears in parallel with this visual novel.. I do not understand why it was necessary to do this.

Speaking of which, what do you think of the guest characters? What did you think of the novel? Its pros, its cons, and what score would you give it?
I don't really have much to say about the "guest characters" simply because when I started reading this visual novel, they weren't there anymore. As I said before, I only found out about their existence because I decided to read all the comments in this thread from the beginning. I saw some information, screenshots of some character sprites, but that's not enough for me to form an opinion about them.

Regarding the visual novel itself in general, I left my review here (you can read it and other reviews by clicking on "Discussion Reviews", at the top between the line with tags and the line with the page number of comments) and gave a rating (five stars at the top right, click on the one you need to rate this visual novel, a window for a review appears, you write a review, and it's done) and I have the impression that it's kind of superficial. Maybe later I'll edit it, add something, add more specifics. If I have such a desire and will be able to edit the review. I don't know after what time the review editing function becomes unavailable.

The project is not finished yet and it is regularly changing and it is not clear, is there any point in talking about the minuses now? If after several updates they may not exist anymore.
I don't know, maybe when I finish reading all the comments here, I will write something... not that these are really significant minuses, just my observations and perception.

And have you previously written your opinion here about "Giant Guardians"? If so, then in the near future I will see your comment. However, it is still worth putting a rating and writing a real review, as it seems to me. If you have such a desire, of course.

While we're waiting, any guesses for who's getting updated next?
My guess is Madea, Margarite and Diula. I think Madea and Margarite are basically guaranteed since it's been a long time since they last got regular updates. Diula also hasn't been updated in a while but I could also see Pyeka getting updated instead.
Next month would probably be Regina, Naya and Sheina. Lycalis & Viridice haven't seen much love recently and Sheina's route seems to be intersecting with the two guardians' routes.

Here's a chart of how many months it's been since each heroine got a regular update (Cygnia represents the Timfalme route).

And here's the chart for sponsored updates. I left out Heroines that got regular updates the last 3 months as the minimum gap between regular updates for a route seems to be 4 months.

Jokes aside, it should be either: Diula/Pyeka/Madea... Makla is always a possibility since she's so far behind compared to everyone else but would be super unusual, timfalme is not happening considering the onslaught of sponsorships in future months

I have some thoughts about Nyxmay: considering her ability to control dreams, penetrate into the dreams of others or let them into her own, fairly high-level magic, literally the ability to grant immortality to a living being (that is, if it did not die before the spell, but after the spell even a complete crush does not kill), the ability to regenerate and heal other creatures beyond measure, create undead, change the saturation of the eyes during sexual pleasure with strong arousal... she is a succubus.

At least half. The only thing missing is horns and a tail (like Kendra). But her wings are definitely not fairy wings. Perhaps she can hide the horns and tails at will. Or they are not there, since she is only half succubus and someone else.

Her appearance type is literally like that of succubi. Look, I've watched a lot of japanese hentai and other anime genres where succubi were present - they look very similar to Nyxmay. «People of culture» who have also seen the same things as me, I think will confirm my words.

When Kendra leaves MC with her and goes to find food, if you ask Nyxmay for help in a conversation, namely say "what should I do to get you to help me?" - she will say something like "oh, do you know how to ask demons for help". She positions herself as a demon. (although this of course does not prove 100% anything, in fact)

What do you think about this in general? I don't know if anyone has made such an assumption before, I haven't read all the pages with comments yet.

I don't think so, succubi traditionally don't have anything to do with blood consumption. My best guess is Nyxmay is either a blood fairy, or a vampiress (or something in between) considering her blood absorption ability.

"Blood fairy"? What's that?
I tried to remember if I'd ever heard of such a thing or seen it somewhere... no, never.

I also considered the vampire option, but in my opinion it's from the "more likely no than yes" category. The option is acceptable, but definitely not a priority. Again, my assumptions.
When we have more details, we can think more and accept new facts when they are exhaustive facts.

Maybe I missed some details with Nyxmay, I don't remember her having a blood hunger, getting excited by the sight of blood exactly like vampires do. In addition, she enjoys regular food, at least the strife that the dark elf cooked at home. If I'm not mistaken in my understanding of what's happening.

It's worth remembering about vampires and the problematic situation with them, due to the need for a bloody diet, which worries one altruistic giantess from a rich and influential family. They could also fall into an uncontrolled mode when absorbing blood or even into a rage mode.

Are vampires capable of doing something like "soul binding"?
However, if we consider the option that Nyxmay can be half someone...who knows. This also applies to the option that she is a succubus and her mixture with something else.

P.S. I have seen at least one hentai, where there was a succubus who almost looked like Nyxmay.

It's more like energy absorption (akin to succubi) than literal consumption. I think Nyxmay isn't as excited for blood as she is for the act itself. The flower in her hair turn redder as she "absorbs" victim's blood. Though I don't exactly remember if that "absorption" has been explained yet.

Anyone with large enough magic reserves seems capable of soul binding. Eliette explicitly mentions that she COULD do that but she considers it unethical due to the risk of turning into an undead.

That's why I mentioned she could also be anything in between (half vamp, half fairy maybe), that would explain her more human aspects. But her lore is definitely strongly tied to blood, whether it's just something she does for pleasure or something essential that remains to be seen.
