AAAH, the writing! The GRAMMAR! THE HORRORS.
“Assist a debate or discussion” is wrong. That’s a false friend from Spanish, asistir. In English, you attend something or you participate in it.
The same 10 verbs and adjectives are recycled to death in every scene
“move,” “show,” “crush,” “look,” “say,” “come,” “go,” “feel,” “hear” “big,” “weird,” “scared,” “nice,” “soft,” “bad,” “fun,” “same”

I can't fathom how the writer, whose only job is writing , no art, no coding, just text, can publish lines like these without even glancing at a thesaurus. Without even trying to write at a basic, readable level.

And somehow, it keeps getting worse. Update after update, the quality sinks further.

Ma'am, this is a porn site. If you're looking for high literature, this isn't the place for it. Also, the writer is not a native english speaker nor is he proficient at the language, so while you can criticize the lack of a proofreader there's only so much a person can do at a time when it comes to improving their ESL.

Furthermore, you're wrong. The writer is also the coder.

Five years and there's still no improvement? At that point, it's fair to call it laziness. Running a RenPy file through a grammar checker or using a thesaurus for better word choices isn’t exactly a monumental task these days. I said 'basic, readable level,' but what I see feels like a first draft passed off as the final version. And honestly, it's been getting worse lately

Than don’t play the game if your going to be hypercritical of some grammar issues? That simple

I mean, It's like : " I used to really like this bakery, and the people inside it. But lately, despite their massive sales, they’ve been serving underbaked dough and calling it bread. It's a shame to see them like that. " . Is that so weird to say?

It’s not but if your constantly dissatisfied with the service and you think their not up to your standards anymore for a prolonged period, than you wouldn’t go back to that bakery would you? Not every customer is going to have the same general view as you of their product and if your dissatisfied with that product than don’t consume it anymore… especially if you don’t even know all the details of the owners

Except that's not what's happening, the more apt analogy would be: "I used to really like this bakery, and the people inside it. But lately, despite their decent sales, they’ve only marginally increased the quality. So I proceeded to burn the entire bakery down." Because:

1) Writing is not the sole factor to judge a story: there are plenty of well written stories with a boring plot and even more boring characters. While GG's writing hasn't improved, a lot of other areas have including the characterization as pretty much every character (other than Yakuu, I guess) has been considerably more fleshed out than when they initially appeared, the plot is consistently introducing complex elements that give each kingdom a level of nuance that wasn't there before and the worldbuilding regularly adds layers to certain characters and the world that weren't really there before. And besides the writing, the art has also improved pretty significantly. So yeah, to say there's been a downgrade in quality is absurd, clearly it's been improving, you just choose to ignore that. In other words, while the writing might still be stuck at "bad," the storytelling has matured and improved a lot.

2) GG is pretty much the only real giantess dating sim in the market, if you want the devs to be motivated to improve further, you should be blaming the nonexistent competition. Otherwise, the quality improvement is pretty much in line with what they make which is aroundd 5k to 6k a month so 3k per dev give or take: I would never refer to that as "massive sales", it's definitely good money, but it's not like they can afford like a 5 man team or anything. The best they can get is a proofreader to fix the grammar issues but not necessarily improve the writing.

I was saying something different, though: the grammar is getting worse, the descriptions are weaker, and the prose quality is noticeably slipping in terms of English clarity and fluency. There are frequent misuses of articles and a general stylistic blandness that can't simply be blamed on the author being Spanish but pure lazy writing. And that would be understandable, if not for the fact that he’s clearly a dedicated writer, as I’ve mentioned before.
A lot of scenes are just rehashed versions of older ones (e.g., “Naya wants to eat you” , once again Flattened by Nyxmay”) with only minor variations. But that’s not even what I was referring to.
What kind of writing/art can I commission for 6000 euros? That’s the standard I’m thinking of when you make those claims. I like the lore, but come on, Writer, this is feeling unbaked. They are selling a product, after all.

It's 3000 euros per dev, depending on where they live in spain (most likely madrid or barcelona) 1500 of that goes to rent, even more for living expenses, you have taxes on top of that. I would be very surprised if they have even have 800 euros left over per person at the end of it. That's good money especially for a freelance job, but it's not good enough to turn it into a full fledged business without there being a major risk of diminishing returns (which is highly likely in a niche like this). Their patreon income is mostly an insurance that enables them to work on the project full-time rather than it being a passion project with an irl day job.

I think it would be wiser to wait for a full release on steam, itch.io etc. (I don't know when that's going to be) to fully polish the game as the income from that would help with the additional expenses it might incur.

I would ignore him. i replied to him once and thats it. to me he looks like someone who has absolutely no idea how dev of game works and that non native english speakers working on such project must invest effort to developing and graphics and the are 2! which is crazy talking about grammar is just so stupid and lame .

You're probably less bothered by it since you're an ESL speaker too. I'm absolutely certain the writing could, and should, be improved. That said, I don't agree with the idea that ESL speakers are incapable of reaching a decent level of quality. That’s just wrong and a bit patronizing.

Bad grammar can ruin the experience if bad enough however there is like over 5000 lines in the game of course there is going to be a few grammar errors here and there but there is so few errors it doesn't take you out of the experience especially knowing english is not the devs first language it what makes it more impressive
