For me, it changes to a default folder after I make a new save.

But If I overwrite previous save, no issue whatsoever. Basically I just keep 1 save (per playthrough) and use the autosaves if I need to re-do the day.

Weird, its like its not saving your preference. Maybe try running as admin see if it can then overwrite the prefs file.

thanks, but it's really a non-issue.

I don't make new save files all that often and even then it's just a few clicks.

Just restarted the game after a long absence, and I noted that the Amulet of Power is now depicted as a necklace with a red stone, but the text still describes it as a lamp-like object with a penis shape, which it clearly isn't anymore in the picture.

Slut Sveta gets home late and Natasha says 'Been whoring yourself out on the streets again?' If she already knows that Sveta is no longer a virgin, which you would expect from a mother making such a statement, why would she continue asking Sveta to visit the doctor for a referral note, that she clearly has no chance of receiving? Whoring implies that you've been having sex and not simply fooling around. She wouldn't say that unless she was pretty sure it was true.

There definitely are cases like this where not everything in the story feels super consistent, but most of the time they kind of only happen if you make them happen.
