there is nothing to fix, you do not have 7-zip software (or you have but forget to assign 7z file to open under said software), thus the computer can't assign icon to it

I've stated that I have no idea why one is chosen over the other...
In 8.5, Anya never appears in the community center after asking her in the bedroom to meet her friends. Is this a bug?

Ok. So I've been playing this game for like... years now I think. Let me give some examples of problems:
When you go in the bathroom you can latch the door or not. If you don't it says something about your stepdad or brother may peek inside. Can the stepdad ever do that? Cause out of like 2000 times of clicking through that its never happened. The brother will eventually just invite himself in or you invite him in - but I have no idea how they happens or when these things happen. It should say "Dad always tries to take a shower around 7 at night so I should lock the door... or not." Something like that. Also - I feel like there should be more variations to scenes once you finally unlock them. Ive seen some of the 3rd party edits that make scenes appear easier. You guys should just make the scenes easier to find or breadcrumb better.

Concerning the stepdad peeking/walking in, I'm pretty sure you need a good relationship with him. Same thing also goes for the brother, I think. The rest is up to chance.
The wiki does offer some more clues about how some of these scenes are to be triggered, but yeah, I agree that there should be a few more ingame hints.
Well it's just that if people have a choice between free ware and nag ware it's normal to chose to use free ware amusing similar functionality. Although if my memory serves me correctly their was a time years ago when 7-zip didn't handle rar files but I might be misremembering that.

I have used the cheat to set my relationship at all levels with him. Gone into the bathroom in the evening every single night - it NEVER keys. I did that just to test and see ... my question is : is that code even in? If so - I shouldn't have to be Sherlock Holmes or open the code to find out. I shouldn't even have to have a wiki open to gain traction on the very little provided breadcrumbs.
The number one thing this game could do to be WAY better (again this is my opinion) is to provide WAY better breadcrumbs and reduce the RNG of key interactions.

A lot of the content requires you to find it and there is a lot that is not obvious at all. We have tried to make the school groups and friends fairly obvious in that you need to improve relations and walk them home to unlock their homes in most cases. There are some that require storyline events to unlock further interactions like Albina and her Starlets. Most jobs and activities have some content so try different things and you'll see more stuff. However, the game is a life sim and that does mean their is a need for some things like School and work to repeat a lot and its simply not possible to make every time unique.
It does depend on what you are looking for as there are nicer storylines like dating Fedor and nasty ones like following Niko.
7-zip is light weight and hassle free, Winrar is not and for a time they used an encryption that other programs could unpack just to force people to use it. So I felt like fuck those guys and the horse they rode in on. No wait, that doesn't work.
She should be just outside but sometimes it takes up to a week for her to appear there. I don't know why, her stuff has always been buggy.
Dad has to be home and not hanging out with Mom before he can peek. He's quite late out of bed so unlikely to catch you in the morning, early evenings are best time. I agree some stuff should be easier to find and more could be shown in the journal but things like family schedule was only just finished with so we haven't been able to give information before. Will look at ways to add more in the future.
