Can't get this to run at all. Followed instructions and this is what I get. None of the tabs at the top work. Absolutely nothing works.

The settings in the player is just messed up for some reasons, click on the settings tab at the top, then show/hide, then make sure you have main desc, additional desc, and action windows showing, the rest you can turn on or off if you want. Then you can drag them around in any way you want.
Then it should look something like this, this is how I have mine set up.

Problem is that when I click on the settings or any of the tabs at the top nothing happens at all. I don't get any options to do anything at all. I probably screwed it up when I first started and choose full screen mode, but now nothing works and I can't undo that choice.

Kevin should be on in a few hours and hopefully he will be able to help you, as he knows the qsp a lot better than I do. I am sure there is a way to fix it, or maybe just delete it and reinstall the player. Don't know.
Too complicated installation and a lot of packs. It is not we who should assemble the game like a puzzle piece by piece, but the developer. The user only has to download and play in 3 three button clicks.
Your nickname's wrong. It should be Karen instead of Jason with that "i'm a paying customer!" attitude at a free buffet no one's forcing you to eat...
Edit: But you are somewhat correct in saying that this game and others like it aren't the easiest to get into. It simply depends on how much you as a player want to invest in playing it. And then there's the mods... That's a whole 'nother thingamajig altogether!

oh, it's annoying qsp bug
close it with ctrl alt del, open it again and press f11 after. Don't fullscreen it again.
After that do what nutluck said with settings and such.

Maybe someone knows - how to increase the font size of text in the QSP Player 1.9 "Main Desc" window.
In player settings only text size of "actions" window can be changed. And ingame settings are changing "additional desc" window text. Or maybe I'm missing something.

You're gonna have to do that with the Qsp settings itself. Turn on custom font size (Qqsp player) or select custom font (QSP 5.7). I just tested it, and setting a different fontsize for the status window does override the custom fontsize for the status window while leaving the other ones intact.
p.s. I feel your pain, reading on a 1440p screen is hell

He means that the new university path is broken and you can't go further than this, or at least that's the problem I'm having.
If someone can fix it it would be greatly appreciated, I don't remember the name of the program to modify qsp anymore.
In the cheat menu fame there is - Painter, Ballet dancer, Social media, so how Sveta can become one of this?
Can you change the resolution on the QSP player? I'm playing on a laptop and it's really claustrophobic, the only solution I've found is turning down the display scaling on Windows but it's not great.

Your question prompted me to look back at some of my challenges when I tried my luck with creating some custom art for GL.
My idea was to create a real-world 2d avatar for GL to get a consistent look for
flashing
card game
strip club
school events

Using linked photoshop project files in combination with layer comps helped me save time when creating image variants.
At this point in development it seems incredibly challenging to replace all the images in one coherent style.
Some artists could still be tempted to create (real-world!) image mods for the main avatar, some npc, some specific events.
In hindsight the main challenges for those interested in creating custom art for GL are:

That is not how the qsp engine works, not much we can do about it other than switch to a new engine, which will never happen at this point because the game is way to big.

I think you still have to download the engine and the all in one pack and that's it.
