Thanks for answering. To be clear I haven't personally seen any kink or fetish, planned or currently in game that I would have a huge problem with(I don't usually like the stretchy blowjob face theme but that is optional ), but I just want to clear on the choice structure.at the moment I have not inserted "heavy" fetishes but in this version 0.0.2 I have inserted for example the possibility during a video of a blowjob scene whether to change """duck face""" mode EXTRA or remain in BASE
I'll probably do the same:
when the whole event is centered around a "full kink event" (as a lesbian) I will probably let the user choose whether to skip it or not, if the kink is just a small part or version of an event I will allow the user to change it mode with an on/off mode
I will follow your advice to ask the user if he wants to see the whole event (in case of kink event) and I will try to be more specific in the scroll buttons
So if I understand this correctly, some events can play out slightly differently depending on player kink options(thats good)...but some events will still canonically happen but the player will be given the choice to skip/not witness the event, not actually change or stop it from happening? That is a potential point of contention. It depends what is it.
Is that right? Its not cool when games pretend to give you options and then the story plays out as if your choice didnt change anything later on. Lets use your example of lesbian. Some players dont like that(not me though ) and really would not be pleased if the game alludes to a skipped event as if it still happened when the player thought they chose to avoid it. It depends on context and how the choice is given too but that is generally what I am getting at.
Skip = event still happens in the story but the player essentially closes their eyes and doesn't see it. - Can be a problem.
Optional/Avoid = Choice that makes the event or thing happen or not happen at all. - Good.
Oh and also, make the game you want. I was just asking questions to see what you had in mind and maybe give you something to think about.
