the people who bought it? obviously, they must be complaining about the bugs and crashes like everyone else, but I doubt that anyone who bought it is complaining that the game doesn't open on their old PC (which is what I'm talking about), people who have a PC with components more than a decade old don't sound like people who spend money on this.

No I am specifically talking about the Vulkan requirement. So many crash/vulkan error issues reported in the discord lol
Been a while since I last touched this game. Please correct me if I am wrong. Dev changed the engine to have a new shiny thing to play and to increase his own experience with new tech. And being a newbie, he released a completely buggy version with system requirements like Cyberpunk that crashes every 3 mins. He also got a star, or maybe a DC virus, and refuses to admit that it was a mistake. So this game is literally on the path where actual content updates will be sparse and the developer will be mostly busy improving his coding skills, but the patrons will still have to pay him for it. Ultimately, this is another game that will have no chances to be finished or even get a reasonable amount of content in the next 3+ years.
i wouldnt call them pointless i personally enjoyed them especially with the voice effects. mind you i just started a couple days ago with this VN but ive dealt with worse like ones without animations crashing. the only thing i dont like so far is that i cant really go back and change a choice or save before a choice but thats just me i guess. also im getting it for free so who knows maybe theyll get better maybe not we will just have to see but i think its more understandable that this issue happens at the initial switch than later on. but i cant understand your frustrations and hope you have a good one.

I tried to get Asami's friendly and non sexual route but can't get it. It says it was added an thus I conclude I'm as dumb as a rock. So if someone could explain to me what needs to be done I would be grateful. Maybe I skipped a line while fast clicking through the story idk.

This isn't Fallout or Assassins Creed either. Just a plain adult VN with a few animations. Every second indie dev here, as soon as their project becomes more or less popular, starts artificially delaying updates just to make more money. And thanks to people like you, they don't even have to make up excuses. Ubisoft, lmao.

Love and Sex: Second Base, another game. The game is huge and really fun, but it has basically no animations; the nearest of that would be static frames following each other to give you an idea of action.
I mostly agree with that. I do agree that animations aren't necessary for a good game, but they do add some value.
They don't justify changing the engine, though. The level of animation that Goodbye Eternity shows could be easily handled by Ren'Py, through ATL. And even if it wasn't, the hurdle associated with mid-project engine change more than overcompensates any value brought by animations.
