Stop reading reviews. You either get mad haters giving 1 star for non-issues IF they even give a reason other than "It didn't have the thing I want" or 5 star reviews that are nothing but shameless praise "This is the best game I've ever played" despite the game having tons of flaws.
Just read the OP and the last few pages of a thread to learn the current state of the game and go from there whether you want to play or avoid a game.

Engine issues aside, can we have a word about how the "teasing scenes" are actually much better than the hardcore scenes? The Onsen and the Alleyway scenes were hot as fuck, there was a lot of potential if it were to have more progression there, sadly went by unused and the hardcore scenes both at the house and love hotel were underwhelming, especially compared to Yasuka hardcore scenes, in fact I just went ahead to the gallery and enjoyed Yasuka's scenes instead after I finished the build. Noruko update was similar, the scenes following up to the reveal was better than what followed, hardcore scenes simply lacked the "domination" aspect even the first scenes could achieve. BTW camera/perspective is too far off from the action sometimes, really takes away from the experience.
Back to the update, I think MC had no reason to hold off in the alleyway, things could easily escalate there and then, especially since the build requires friendzoning Asumi. I understand the need to take things slow but MC at that point wouldn't hold off, he's basically a womanizer so... Maybe it can be reworked with more scenes or a bolder approach is implemented where MC advances to get her as well, could hit a unique chemistry.

The thing about not being able to see the new scenes if you're in a relationship with another girl is complete crap... New content already takes ages to get, so why not be able to see it just because you wanted to have sex with one of the characters in the past? It's a fucking porn game!

It's a story driven porn game, I know the thought of that bewilders some people but those type of games usually give their characters personality and sometimes... boundaries. A mother not wanting to take her daughter's boyfriend isn't some farfetched idea.
Not to mention, you can skip through all the previous stuff and go directly to Sayuri's path through the chapter option and it asks you what your relationship with the other girls are. You ain't losing anything.
I think having to choose routes from the menu just to see the new scenes and then go back to how you had it before because otherwise you won't be able to see things from the next update... It takes you out of the immersion of the game a bit. If it keeps branching like this in the future you'll have to play with multiple saves at once choosing different options so you don't lose content... I'm not a fan of these types of games, and having your saves deleted with each update doesn't help.
The game is not over, its possible that Dev will loop around later and allow you to have a relationship with both.
I mean it would be a real treat to have Yasuka and Noriko together.
That being said sometimes you have to respect Dev for having their vision.
Just finished the Sayuri route. Not going to lie 11 out of 10.

what are the two branches on Sayuri's route? can we get into her route while we are with Asami?
There are bug free Godot games, is there anything to suggest that it's the engine rather than the devs using it?
Like this dev porting the game to a different engine in the middle of the project. Realistically that would be a mess whether you were going from Unity to Godot or vice versa, or even Unity to UE etc. I really doubt that the bugs and performance regressions that have appeared in this game since it was ported are engine level issues.
Godot is also free with no revenue sharing so you probably get a higher percentage of devs on a limited budget cutting corners on costs, and it's open source anyway so if there is a bug you can just... fix it.
