I wasn’t equating the fanbases, just pointing out an example where this kind of cooperation between creator and audience worked exceptionally well.
I think it's a bit of a stretch, because we don't know whether the alternative wouldn't be at least as much or even more successful. That alternative doesn't exist, so we can't compare their respective performances.

He could’ve turned it into a light-hearted fantasy romp to maximize ticket sales — but he didn’t.
It could be argued that there's enough of unnecessary and annoying changes that were aimed at exactly that -- like, pretty much inventing "focus antagonists" for each movie simply because that's what the audience is so used to, when there's no such thing in the original material.

That is an absolute shame, hopefully there will be a possibility to avoid it with clear choices at the very least.

I am always disappointed when authors delegate parts of the creative choices to fan and supporters.

I am not talking about what to focus first or minor things like pubic hair on a character, but with major story decisions like this, it feels that the author loses a lot of his agency in the creative process.

I want to play a story coming from the author, not a collective of supporters with no writing talent and different goals.
I completely agree it's the creators choice and even if they say one thing early on you can't expect to keep their promise as it's still their project, even if I'm one of the ones who don't want the NTR I also trust they're keeping true to what they say anyway and its gonna be a save them before they go through with it type deal but even if they don't I'll probably just speed run the last segment to know I 110% the game because the creator put a lot of work into it and if they make a full game I'm playing the full game, I've been following this and Summertime Saga for quite some time now I'm not someone who rushes progress cause I don't know how hard it is to make games of this quality as a side project to whatever else I'm working on so I'm happy whenever I get a notification for a new patch instead of complaining "Finally now bring out the next patch sooner" progress is progress in my eyes plus the creator could honestly be worse like Team Cherry's lack of info for years on end for a highly anticipated game, yes I know I'm comparing apples and oranges all I'm say is take what you get gracefully cause they could just scrap the game altogether if they wanted I wouldn't blame them with the backlash for the choices in their own game

I would agree with you if the game had consistent and worthwhile updates, but it doesn't so what really happens is people who wanted a more vanilla experience will now be getting less content because updates will be replaced with "it's not technically ntr." Optional routes would be fine if he could even deliver the main content at a reasonable rate.

If he wanted to make a ntr game so bad simply wrap up the routes you started and label the game as complete and start a new game because as of now I don't understand who it is made for with such worthless updates and now splitting up content between different groups of people.
I mean, it looks like that kinda stuff is getting added after the mains routes, since there are choices that are just greyed out currently that seem like they'll lead to that. So it really has no impact on those who don't like it. By the time they're getting added, the game would functionally be complete for people not interested in NTR. So, really, what is the issue?

Sorry to ruin it to NTR fans but NTR means stealing the heart of a girl or making her submit to you preferring the bull over the MC or actual partner, if they add a final bad scene where they get fucked by the other guys it will mean cheating or rape, not actual NTR, learn your tags.
And I don't think the author will have the patience and energy to made and entire love route/NTR where the girl falls in love or desire the other guy, it will be like a rape scene.

PD: As someone who used to enjoy NTR and now I'm more into romance, there is nothing to gain to have NTR, but since is going to be completely avoidable, Im not going to ruin my experience, the romance here is good enough.

Yeah that's true, only having NTR endings would be pretty lame.

By the way, isn't it usually the other way around ? First you enjoy cutsy wholesome romance but later, you're itching for something harder, something more "real" ? haha

what ntr?

nvm, so the dev is breaking his word of "No NTR" huh
alright, because this ever goes well right?
honestly if that's your favorite tag why make a vow of not adding NTR at the start
just make the thing you like since the very start instead of baiting people
to play your game expecting it to be free of a tag they don't like, why are devs like this
Truly, this dev doesn't respect his game which is a L dev for me, some dev I'm familiar with will confront users who wants to add something/alter the story that the dev originally created, to the point the dev will even encourage them to not play/support their own game (for those who is not a fan of).

I know that devs must entertain or give satisfaction to his/her fans, but this is not the right way (blinded by money, Two outcomes: proceed to change the original story/ abandon the game after the dev milked its fans.), why not create a "What if scenarios" which is not canon and does not included on the original game, like in similar games.

But it seems like the dev has always wanted to do it, why else open so much possible ntr scenarios and teasings, seems like he wanted it but didnt do it cuz fear of backlash, he left it open as possibility and now he wants to do it.
Kinda hypocritical saying "they want to control him this and that" meanwhile people in here are most controling and people who really matter are patreons

What the hell happened to this game? I looked for it multiple times and could never find it, as I wasn't aware of the name change. Finally found out it was this game, and half the shit is missing from a year or 2 ago. It went from a sandbox to a linear game that just happens to have an open world map for reasons. Like this game was actually really good, now it's pretty mediocre.

so i'm relatively early in this game....i've been abducted by sakuya. How am i supposed to treat her? Does it matter? Should i fuck her and shit or be refusing her. Does it affect the storyline and/or her personality moving forward? Also, I was told that this game has become NTR, but there's no tag for it. Does MC end up losing his girls?

It was always like that. There's a map but only so you can click on next spot/event which will advance sub-plot for character who currently has the spotlight. Rinse and repeat.

Did the developer say anything anywhere about the addition of NTR or is this about you guys being paranoid weirdos again because he said ‘bad endings’?
