Not to be the bearer of bad news, or good depending on if you have a sibling/xxxx or not. 1, many countries don't have laws around incest, 2, some do but only forbid male v female in case of procreating. 3, and most that forbid it completely can't monitor it well enough. What people do in their own home is a secret to the general public. That aside, animated art, games, novels, etc, are usually exempt from laws since it's fiction. Meaning that Goodbye Eternity could've had family related stuff. Why does it not? Developer's vision and I assume Patreon and Gog would feel something about it. I know that Patreon does not allow it, I can't imagine that Gog would be fine with it.

I agree with you. Regarding incest, I'm pretty sure some countries don't completely ban it, but generally most countries consider it immoral. Personally, I'm not against games with this content; in fact, I play them quite a lot. I'm not an avid user of any, but I prefer cucking over ntr. It seems a lot safer and more wholesome. But I can understand why people feel iffy about ntr but not cucking, and vice versa. I found an easy way to unlock the gallery. Just put the override.cfg file in the same folder as Goodbye_Eternity-v.0.12.0-windows.exe and... that's it.

I don't really get the hate for NTR specifically here for some reason. Not why one might dislike it but why this should be some harem game with the caliber of its premise obviously allowing something greater than a generic harem sandbox just with a great design team and budget. Like a game with the premise of doing your most to prevent the mistakes of the past and it actually having stakes and not being like a good harem game with the same premise yet slice of life and not as serious (Another Chance), it should obviously have fail-states/ntr to make stakes known just as a writing thing. It shouldn't be this safe slop-harem vanilla game which corruption and the love-y dove-y route are essentially the same bullshit or were this power fantasy is maintained when greater forces are at play. I just don't get it why here like "omfg if the characters I like are even just conceptually shown to be sexually with others I will revolt even if I never encounter it when I play."

From what I hear, people into NTR are not into getting cucked themselves. They're into being the one who cucks. So, on the topic of this game, do people want the MC to get cucked? I mean, I personally find both weird. One is weirdly self-destructive, and the other is just delusional. My experience on this forum tells me the opposite, if people wanted to be the one cucking (ie the bull) then they wouldn't have issues with harem games since a lot of them have the MC screwing a chick in a relationship at some point. You can see that by the small amount of games that are netori focused (MC doing the cucking) vs netorare (MC getting cucked) if there was no difference for them and they just wanted to self insert as the bull then I imagine it would be a more even distribution but no, the one that has more humiliation towards the MC is vastly more popular among ntr fans.
I've always suspected this is what the dev wanted to make or even just a straight up ntr game with how pathetic the MC in this game is at the start, he clearly leans into the ntr side of the game, but decided to only tease it. The reality is the dev knows harem games have a much bigger audience and have a higher probability to succeed, and having ntr from the start would have made those fans not turn up since it's a very despised genre for vanilla and harem fans.
The hate is very easy to understand when you realize people like to self-insert in these types of AVNs and, you might find it weird, but actually the vast majority don't want to feel like they are getting cucked/betrayed. I've played plenty of games with optional ntr where if you fail bad stuff happens and it's interesting to avoid it imo but most ntr players wouldn't want that either, they want to read about the player character getting humiliated, betrayed and cucked which I personally don't understand as a kink tbh.
