are we voting on "if its dead"?
I felt perplexe that this case isn't as clear cut as usual. So, I felt like laying out the the points I see. ( I didn't play or followed
The Secret of Mom and Me and there is probably a lot to be found on the discord, but I couldn't bother as this is a before bed post for me.)
For abandonned tag :
- the update interval for this VN was 1 month according to my notes, and there is no lasting annoucement of a change in developement rythme/plan (patreon, blog/f95zone, etc.) which is always bad news;
- dev did hard pivote to an other project (
The Secret of Mom and Me);
- no announced plan;
- quick stalking shows no activity (on this VN) since early jully, yet dev is quite active;
- dev focus is on an other VN;
- dev had a comment section fight on page 8;
Against abandonned tag :
- dev did brought a game to completion;
- dev, seamingly, is active as a dev;
- dev didn't annouced a pause or end to developement, or life disruption;
- dev is recently active on F95zone.
Simply put, this VN has both greens and reds flags for being abandonne or not, or being in the process of abandonnement.
The most worrysome to me is the end of the 1 month update interval pattern. From my observations, while 1 month updates are, usually, unsustainable, how the dev transition out of them is the real test of commitement. Failing to transition to a more sustainnable format usually shows/lead to burn out or a short commitement span which both lead to disengagement. Succeeding the transition mean : we are cruising.
Hence, to me the question become did we shadow transition in a new patern or, is it abandonned/onhold. Which most of time mean the same thing.
