Looks like you misread what I said, everything but the sleeping scenes was good. But you don't need 30 naked sleep scenes to progress the story for nana. You could do with a fraction of that and accomplish the same thing.
Let's see. At most, we've covered 92 days (two per release). Several releases have involved a single day, though some of those have accomplished longer days by having the sleeping characters wake up, interact, and go back to sleep. Let's say we've seen the MC go to sleep 115 times over the course of the story thus far. Lately, it's incredibly rare to see him go to sleep alone.
Is this a story beat? Is the dev incapable of not leaving out scenes that don't really advance things?
Honestly, I'm not sure what you'd term a story beat. In, say, a detective novel, going through the process of investigating a character (digging into their employment history, credit history, education, past relationships) would logically be a story beat. Going into detail with this process for four distinct suspects would be tedious, and so it's not covered.
In true, straightforward pornography scenes, you might start right from the point where the characters are getting naked. However, it's fairly common to establish some background to a scene or a relationship, however briefly. It's up to the creators to decide. One suspects that a porno where 92 minutes is spent establishing the relationship between two characters, and 5 minutes of them having actual sex would not be successful as porn (trim the five minutes and film it with a Vaselined lens and careful camera angles, and it would at worst be an R-rated movie, and might be successful).
As far as being capable of leaving things out: if you went through this in the time between Tanya moving into the basement apartment, and Anne's arrival, you might have noticed the MC visiting Tanya pretty much every day. You didn't see it; generally, it was mentioned in passing as we saw the MC's garage, before some scenes of his working on his car, or prepping the garage to open.
When the MC was a freelance handyman, we saw at most one page/slide/panel (whatever) noting he was working - unless some sexual activity was going to happen. We've only seen him go to the bathroom when something sexual was going to happen.
But the dev has chosen to leave in the scenes where we see the MC fall asleep for the night. They've been present since the beginning - when the MC was going to bed alone. Why might he show us these? Well, they do punctuate the passage of an in-game day. Someone who cared could tell you exactly how many days we've seen, by counting how many times the MC has gone to sleep. If we never saw that, we might not quite realize how much time has passed. Could the dev replace the "ZZZ" scene with one that said "Day
xx"? Yes, but that would be much more intrusive.
Also note that each update has run to the end of a day. If you're playing through the whole thing, you can be reassured that you probably found a good place to stop when you get to "ZZZ".
And again: if we really view this as some sort of journal, it's fairly common to add an entry at the end of the day. Probably not written with a girl or three snoozing on top of you, but still.
Next: you say these scenes with people piled on the MC without anyone having sex don't advance the story. For some characters, it has helped advance their story. It's been noted that Allison's eventually having sex with her grandson is a journey where much of the progression has happened around the end or start of a day: her growing used to seeing him naked; her becoming willing to cuddle and (literally, not figuratively) sleep with him; progressing to doing so in pajamas, to doing so naked; it's all advanced that storyline. The same is true for most of the M7.
For that matter: at the start of the game, MC usually went to bed alone. Then, we reached a point where he'd frequently be cuddling with someone, even if no explicitly sexual activity were happening. Now, frequently, cuddling seems to be a follow-up to sex. Which makes sense, as the M7 (not the only characters he sleeps with, the the ones he does so with most often, and the ones that aren't part of the optional content) have become closer to him, with 4 of the 7 now having full-on sex with him. (I'm not sure what you get if you've opted out of a character he falls asleep with, so YMMV).
Going back to what I said at the start - we're talking about maybe 2-3 pages a day. How many pages do we get for a day? Hundreds? I find it difficult to believe anyone views this as being terribly intrusive, or that their removal would result in a significant amount of other content. At best, it would give the dev back an evening a month, if that. Not enough time to actually give you a different scene.
You are of course entitled to your opinion. I believe this irritates you, and that your initial post was simply expressing that irritation (I went back and looked). Your response to FatGiant's post (which itself was responding to three posts, not just yours) had four words that still admitted that you found anything positive in the game, much less that the scenes where the MC goes to sleep were the only thing that irritated you. It's hard to blame people for missing your declaration that you like everything else, when that declaration is "Which it is except". Perhaps you could consider the possibility that you overreacted in response to FatGiant? (Note again, his response is addressed to two different people in addition to yourself. Perhaps what felt like a personal attack was really directed elsewhere? I mean, I've seen other responses from him, and this one, while not as polite as you might get from someone Victorian, didn't use a RYNO (Rip Ya a New One, a weapon from the Ratchet and Clank games).
Anyway, I hope you continue to otherwise enjoy the game.
(Edited to change the start of a sentence in the middle of this. Having that sentence start "Finally..." just seemed somehow reprehensible.)
