To be fair, there have been TV shows that only lasted 2 seasons of eight episode each for a while. I believe John Cleese's Fawlty Towers dates back to the late 1970s.
I'm not aware of whether it wasn't financially successful enough at the time, or if Cleese just wanted to move on to other things.
Some shows are written as what amounts to a tight weave of stories (or story) without really having room for episodes by a larger selection of writers (The Flight Attendant comes to mind; Game of Thrones qualifies as well, as it was based on a series of books (albeit one that is even now incomplete))
Most of my favorite shows are designed to tell many stories following the same basic format, involving a consistent cast of characters that may have on-going storylines involving them that are usually in the background. I'm thinking of Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order: Criminal Intent; the NCIS shows; the CSI shows; Dick Wolf's FBI shows. However, despite my love of police procedural, I've enjoyed other shows with similar formats. WKRP in Cincinnati, M*A*S*H, Moonlighting (though that involved a bit more story to story continuity in its later seasons, and (i believe) was hampered from completing a full slate of episodes from due to cast issues, more than money or story issues).
I'd be inclined to say that limited season runs and season-long arcs tended to show up strongly when cable channels started making their own shows. The on-going nature of the storyline would drive involvement (where missing any one episode of Law & Order wouldn't be likely to make it confusing to watch the next); limited episode counts would mean that you could pay for fewer episodes, and still have the episodes you pay for showing up in November, February, May, or August (the months where the Neilson organization (possibly Arbitron too) assess the viewership of shows to help set advertising rates).
Please note this analysis of TV trends was tossed together in a few minutes (though based on thoughts I've had for much longer), is pretty much based almost exclusively on American shows, and is limited to shows I've watched; and, of course, is my opinion only.

Without knowing how often the women involved are having sex, it's hard to know the actual percentages are correct. A women having no sex in a given four-week period is going to have pretty much a 0% chance of becoming pregnant. Are all women presumed to be having the same amount of sex? A single woman in her 40s might be having sex much less often than a 25-year-old, which could account for the difference.
That said, even having sex at least once a day, there's not a 100% chance of getting pregnant. Heck, that could be the assumption in the chart, for all I know.
And the women in this VN are not having sex with the MC once a day. I think the average over the (roughly) three month period for the side girls is at most twice. Heck, I'm pretty sure Liz and Cat are at most 4-5 times (counting multiple rounds in a 24-hour period as a single incident).

I tend to suspect that most readers have read more into that than he intended
I believe he's said that "super-sperm" is one of two things that basically will let the MC impregnate any woman he has a sexual relationship with - when Moonbox decides it's time to do that. The other is Priya's fertility treatment (which is presumably how anyone who is eligible for pregnancy but "can't" get pregnant (whether due to infertility, menopause, whatever) does get pregnant).
Note that Moonbox is also reported as saying that Tanya's second pregnancy (which may potentially involve the whole super-sperm thing) is primarily due to the fact that he didn't want to have to redesign her after she delivered Anne. In other words, that's less a matter of it being an important part of the story, and more a time- and effort-saving move on the dev's part (if you want to call that lazy, you can. I mean we have had one scene with Tanya before she was pregnant....)
[Side note: superfetation is a real thing - but in the real world, it's apparently only happened around ten times, and almost all (if not all) of those cases happened with the first pregnancy being brought about by a fertility treatment. And what's more significant here (in the real world) is the egg getting into a place where it can successfully be brought to term . A woman's body does a great job of shutting down egg production while she's pregnant, and the womb would tend not to accept a new fertilized egg if one's already growing. I'll also note that there's one (count it, one) documented case where the second pregnancy started as late as Tanya's seems to have done (in that case it was six months in; the implication is that Tanya's second pregnancy started after she and the MC reunited). That's important to note, because in most of these cases, all the pregnancies were delivered at the same time.
Note on my side note - not a complaint! I like that Moonbox did sufficient research to find out that something like this was possible, and pass the basic knowledge of this on to us. That was cool. I don't think most people would have wanted more detail or realism than that, especially when it comes to the birthing itself.]

Making good animations is fucking hard making good sex animations is even fucking harder. Which is why several well known adult game devs end up farming out their animations and in the game industry in general, character development and animation are 2 separate jobs
ED It also doesn't help that DAZ Studio is not very good for doing animations, (apparently even with all the animation oriented plugins available). And thats before you start trying to work with dynamics. In my admittedly limited experience the best Use of DAZ Studio's animation timeline is making dynamics behave themselves, not animation. If you are going to animate stuff in may be better to learn how to use Blender, which requires a totlly different mindset than DAZ Studio

I chose this particular chart because it was based on a large sampling of women in each of the charted age groups who were actively seeking to get pregnant, i.e. tracking ovulation and having intercourse multiple times during optimal periods. The percentages were also comparable to those presented in a half dozen other articles I read so I figure they are likely accurate. I only presented all this to put the rant about no women in the story getting pregnant into context and that was an inaccurate statement to begin with.
The "real" reality is that women in the story will get pregnant if and when Moonbox wants them to - and that's that.

I think the problem with most harem games, isn't the large numbers of girls available to have in your harem, it's that the vast majority of players come to these games while they're still in active development, and so they're getting everything in drips and drabs and so complain about how it's ages since this that or the other favorite girl of theirs got content, forgetting that were you to play this large harem game for the first time when it's complete you'd never have any complaints at all.
It's a matter of perspective.
