I figured it out.
I forgot that the last time I played the game I did a quick run of the game using the walkthrough to pick only specific girls. I just loaded that save into a clean version of 0.16 and resaved the game at the end and it loaded just fine in 0.19

I quite like this list, considering that Nana for me is Hors Catégorie mine is:
1 - Amelia and Cat
2 Jamila
3 - Shizuka and Tanya
With the others very close though.

Use the v17+ for every new update. That's why it's 17+.

If you just choose to overwrite everything with the update patch, it will get overwritten. It would be best to keep a copy in the main folder and copy it into the game folder after you apply the update.

By using the update only patch. You overwriting the file that includes the patch, so you have to reinstall it.
