I disliked the whole main cast lorewise and their allies after a certain in the story. I disliked them more after the ending
after they learned the truth? understandable reaction but if they ever changed their minds at that point and become radicalized by that truth, then they aren't that much different from the cult.

The reason why they won't publicize their findings is that to prevent future radicalization and future discourse.

Well it might seemed that they're doing Shion injustice but put yourself in their shoes for a second, some people almost lost their lives by just wanting to investigate the cult, second the one of your companions almost lost her hometown because of that cult, third someone's family member got radicalized and murdered a bunch of people because of that truth and the cult and lastly shit went down a lot in multiple towns and cities because of that truth and the same cult.

So what would you think would happen if they were to reveal it to the public. For me it's the most realistic approach and they even mentioned they plan to reveal the truth slowly and gradually.
So your hate is understandable but unjustified.

Edit: I tried my best to make this paragraph as vague and general as possible so please dont mark this as spoilers xD

Thanks for the reply. Tbh, I don't remember much from the story aside from good pussies, hot girls and "Good guys learn truths that disapprove their beliefs and stay silent for the sake of peace". If I want to grasp the story fully again I would need to play it again, but I've decided to move on and blame all my hate on bad writting. So I can not speak more to this topic =P

Yeah, at first, it seemed like a crappy decision, but considering what actually happened and that they weren't the leaders of anything, they really weren't in a position to be like, 'I'mma spread the truth!!!!!'. The most they could do, which was mentioned in the game's ending, was have the kingdom slowly leak out the truth and get ppl adjusted to it.
I don't really like how they handled it personally, but it is a reaction I can understand objectively.
And it's not like they didn't realize that they weren't throwing Shion under the bus in some way, but imagine if, for example, Christ was really a pedophile o SUPER gay in real life and everything ppl grew up hearing was all BS created by the powers that be to hide all that. How do you think the real world would take that? Like, not well.... Oh, not at all.

Having said all that, the truth exists and they have to live with that... I think, the only real choice they could make, aside from slowly leaking it out like they decided to, was to risk civil unrest.

Like I said earlier, the way things went down and how they handled it did leave a bad taste in my mouth... but even the dragons and Shion's on kid didn't know what to do about it either after so much time had passed....

what's impressive for me is that the shion church descendants have gone far astray from what they actually were and actually becoming a significant and charitable religious organization. It was them who took and raised the GE1 protagonist as an orphan which greatly changed her life in the process. The series showed no dark sides from them until their origin reveal in the last game GE:Saga, which is the only dark side of the church that I can think of. It seems the Calamity helped the church change in some way ironically.

They could've stayed as a diddy/eipstein organization but since their world is so fucked up that monsters will just sprawl out everywhere, there should be an untold history that changed the church's leadership and its way of operations.

Edit: To think that the protagonists in this game made a controversial decision unlike in other rpg games where the protagonists are always righteous and does the popular thing to do makes this writing so interesting for me. The fact that their decision made me think twice and analyze their approach is a rare experience for me as a player.

My reaction was 50/50, during that time I was immersed in the story and just wanted to see how will they conclude the GE series and then they pulled out a narrative that not only it was baffling for me, it also made me pause the game mid dialogue and think and comprehend their decision. It was a rare experience for me and it's been a while when rpg games did that for me. Calling this writing bad is a disservice to the author, it was not a masterpiece, sure I agree but saying it's bad writing? nah fam you need to read chinese manhua slops if you want to experience bad writing.
