Overview:
'Guardian of the Royalty' - is a text-based interactive role play game.
The game takes place in a world similar to ours during the Middle Ages. The protagonist was a guardian of the king until the king had been killed by the betrayal of his sons. After that, our hero refused to serve the traitors and was imprisoned for many years. The game starts from the moment when he miraculously escaped.

Playing the game you will make a lot of decisions which will change the world, affect the lives of the characters and your adventure.
This means that you can pass each chapter of the game in many different ways.
There are many different endings which you have to open. Some of them are not obvious, so you should look carefully for them, especially if you want to complete the collection of girls you will meet along the adventure. There are also a lot of different girls.

Dev probably isn't a native English speaker, but should go easy on the use of exclamation points (!) at the end of every paragraph. It looks silly.

Premise of the game sounds good, like a lot of the tags. Windows Defender kicks in if I try to start the .exe. I assume it's nothing but seems curious if the game is HTML.

Added 'Real Porn' to list of tags.

Good luck with your game!

Concept looks solid, breadth and content are good so far, but it needs a lot of polishing work. The presentation and the English are off enough to make it unengaging. For a first reveal, that's acceptable, but if that stays the case it will be a killer for the project.

A word of advice to this Dev {and others}:

When you create a game with umpty-gazillion individual files - or even just two - could you please
BLOODY WELL PACK THEM IN ONE SINGLE FOLDER INSIDE THE .ZIP?

I was lucky enough to realise that this damned thing was about to spray all of these files

files.png

more or less randomly across my "GAMES" directory in time to arrange to put them all into a single folder ... but some people might not catch it in time.

Heh, that reminds me of when 80% of sentences in comics were declarations.:p Yeah, the English is understandable which is commendable, but it's a bit... wobbly. When 90+% of your game lives by its text/story, it's got to be spot on.

Yeah, I actually like HTML games quite a bit because they're similar to erotic stories. When they're written well, they really can be really hot in part because they inspire your mind to go to work. The brain is the biggest sexual organ, after all.

But the language, grammar has to be spot- (or at least 95%) on. Otherwise you lose the immersion and you're better off fapping to a video.

Heh, that reminds me of when 80% of sentences in comics were declarations.
Sentencesd in comics were all exclamations {unless they were questions} for basically the same reason that Hawkeye was the first character named "Clint" {and i'm pretty sure that name was basically a flash of the digitus impudicus to some of the industry} or why the words "flick" or "flicker" were never used in dialog - because the paper and printing were so cheap that periods at the end of sentences were likely to merge with the final letter - and a combination of the letters "L" and "I" was likely to run together and make a "U"...

A game with a bunch of choices and ends, but no saves. No thanks!
It's just a prologue at this point, and there's clearly a load function so there will be saves. I don't think any of the endings took more than 25 clicks to reach.

I long ago learned to 'extract to [folder]' by default. A folder within a folder that I can reduce when needed is far less hassle as an occasional event than dealing with the many, many zips I've seen over the years that aren't prepacked. I'm surprised to see it rankle someone so much, actually.

{A} Judging by the number of upvotes i've gotten on that post, perhaps you shouldn't be surprised

{B} "Extract to [folder]", if it were the norm, wouldn't be a hassle ... but it is, in fact, far from the norm and i REALLY don't like being caught by surprise by devs who can't be arsed to make things a bit more convenient for the users.

I wish you success in your future endeavours ... but without help from me.

Thank you all for your feedback. Now I will briefly reply a few comments that seem the most reasonable.

You are absolutely right. English is not my native language. This is where the confusion with exclamation marks comes in. In my head, the construction of a sentence with expression must necessarily end with an exclamation mark, and I simply didn't know about the differences in its use in our languages. Got it. Thank you(!)

About 'HTML' tag. It was not I who added it, but the moderator, transferring the thread to this forum from requests. I was not able to put any prefix tag creating the thread. So I completely agree, it should be changed either to "VN" or to "Others". The question is, can I change it, or must the change be approved by a moderator?

Thank you for appreciating the concept. For me, working on the storylines is the most inspiring part of the project, and I'm glad that, in fact, many people liked it. As I said, English is not my native language, so I was quite expecting such feedback. I tried to make the translation as good as it was possible for me, but this is obviously not enough. Well, over time I will try to improve the quality of the text. (Probably, if the project gets some kind of financial support by the release of the second chapter, I will use these funds for third-party text editing).

It's just a prologue at this point, and there's clearly a load function so there will be saves. I don't think any of the endings took more than 25 clicks to reach.

Thank you very much.
I don't understand how it is possible to miss the load function in the main menu. In addition, if you find one of the endings or girls, it is immediately saved in the collections, which are also available in the main menu. After that, they will never disappear. This is also an element of the save system.

_____________________________________________

Once again I want to thank everyone who appreciated my work and expressed their opinion. I'll use your feedback to improve the next chapter.

Regarding the next chapter, I can say that the save system will begin to work completely - it will be possible to start with the new chapter if you have passed the prologue before.
I plan to create an even more non-linear system of passing the game, including main and side quests, most of which can be completed in any order.
An open world system will appear - you can quickly move among the locations in which you have been before. World map will be shown. With each new chapter, new locations will become available on it.
And of course, the main character will have new sexual adventures. On this occasion, there are many ideas for diversifying content.

Has promise, could definitely use a mid-chapter save feature or a back button, so as to avoid having to click the same stuff dozens of times over just to get to a single different choice you want to make. At that point, it becomes more a grind than entertainment.

Additionally, a way to leave the story and return to the main menu/title screen would probably be a good addition.

Just my constructive critiques. While it is obvious that English is not your first language, it never caused me any trouble in understanding what you had written.

Overall, as I said, it shows promise and I am looking forward to the next chapter, and hopefully a few quality of life updates as well.

Also, like one guy mentioned it is better to have all the files already within one file inside the zip, but I think they really blew it out of proportion with their angry-sounding response. Personally I preview all zip files before extracting them just to prevent things like this, and while a minor inconvenience isn't anything to start bold text ALL CAPS screeching about.

In the end, bottom line, you're doing good, fix the apparent issues, keep working on that next release, and don't give up! :)
