Am kind of dissapointed so far - compared to the previous games, the protagonist is less attractive, and so far it's only been bugs and insects... ugh...
Could've been worse. Could've been nothing but armpit licking and kissing from the elderly. :/

I really think Hakkaku peaked during Undercrust (Overall just an amazing game), Mission Mermaiden was good with the amount and variation with H-Scenes and a good balance of H-States and story was alright at best, while this game just seems to disappoint for the amount of development time from Mermaiden to now. There's not that many variations of H-Scenes, there's no punishing H-States or many H-States at all, the only thing this game has going for it is the Decent story and Hypno content, and the amount of content is very little so the game just feels like a one and done then come back every now and then for the somewhat decent Hypno H-Scenes

I think the reason the first boss fight was changed was because it was possible for the impact to send the boss flying outside of the level sometimes, due to Unity physics weirdness. Happened to me a few times.

Something I (accidentally forgot) to say in my massive post above is that the Dev team has already said that their next game has been decided to be just an that is not a squeal of any game. Which makes me wonder/believe slightly more that the team knew this game wasn't going to be as good as Mermaiden or something like they got burned out a bit and want an easier ride by doing an RPGmaker game like they did for their first two games on DLsite.

Actually in the grand scheme of it all...it didn't the truth is a bit more hidden....as while Mission Mermaiden came out in and MCSwagger's mod came out a bit over a year later at 30/11/2021 while Hachina wasn't considered even for release dates until which prior to that the Dev team I recall had taken notice of MCSwagger's mod and commended it I believe (no idea when). So while they were of MCSwagger's mod release it was still relatively early since the alpha wasn't released until This alpha release actually to be pushed back by at least an year across the board. Most likely in response to feedback from said alpha which didn't even include the first boss at the time I recall, so they made changes at that time and could have infused MCSwagger's magic into the game though they had thought that they were halfway through development maybe. (which turned out to be more like a third/quater since they were worrying about delaying again later on we found out)
Yes I send them the mod one week before the release of the mod and mentioned it in some blog post I belive.

I did not expect them to take inspiration from the mod. I think that my mod and Hachina have pretty different design goals and that is fine. A lot of players may like a god-mode gameplay style, where you can beat the game with no effort and decide to loose on purpose to see the porn. It is really accessible in that sense.

What bothered me is that they repeated design flaws in Hachina. To name a few:
  • The basic movement and combat is unchanged compared to Mermaiden. Jumping and moving does not keep up with any best practices of platformers/sidescollers
  • Camera is very basic and does not keep up with the action. Eg turning left and right should not pan the camera instantly. This is very irritating.
  • Some bugs where transfered to Hachina unchanged. Eg the list implementation of the status effects in the menu does not translate because they are comparing strings instead of id.
I would have hoped to see some improvement in terms of code quality. I mean it is a great benefit if you can build a game upon an existing module/asset/template base. But it does not feel like this was done in Hachina.

An action focused game but then a RPG? That sounds a bit weird. But if it happens to be a RPG, I hope it delivers the same quality as undercrust. Also would be interesting to see him using RPGMakerMZ, as it offers quite a lot IMO.

Yokohama1501 That's what the translation aluded to in my mind, but it's an google translate so....always a pinch of salt, it might be that by action they mean the game will be like Undercrust's focus rather than more of an dating sim kinda game, the most we can hope for maybe is an onscreen struggle mechanic or battle-fuck stuff. Otherwise hopefully at least Undercrust 2.0 just different setting and such.

Ouch I had some suspicions due to the fact that the audio was carried over and reused in parts....but the code shows it to be this much worse? Considering the fact that they had also planned for a 2022 Summer release and the 1st Boss caused something in the background ; with this new information I wonder if they initially copied and pasted everything over from Mermaiden and just worked on changing that then....would further explain the Dev post's showing pictures of the game and things working away.

This all worries me for the future of the Dev team if they rather copy and paste and build on those shaky foundations instead of using them as building plans for new foundations.....feels a bit like how many AAA Game Dev companies get stuck using their custom built engines that are decades old. What I think they need to do is get someone who knows how to project manage as this isn't just a game design problem then it's an overall management problem with making sure that things get solved and work out well alongside planning out the deadlines and such since they've had to do a lot more bugfixes (We got v1.5 in an span of 3 days?) since release that it could/should have been delayed probably another two weeks.

PS if I may.....how did you mod Mermaiden? I want to try and see about modding Unity games myself but haven't the faintest on the right software and such to use. (Heard about Dnspy and Unity explorer)

I found the premise and the larger cast appealing, but it felt really rushed. Characters were introduced and their backgrounds revealed almost back to back. The fast travel system and lack of use for currency made the game extra short as well. Onmyoji/exorcists are esoteric and don't do anything for me either. If you were hoping for something that would build off their previous titles you'll be disappointed, but if you just wanted more Mission Mermaiden you'll be happy.

This game is amazing, how /where do I obtain the Demon Robe to view the event?

Also in the gallery there's an event where a guy gives Oral to hachina, how to obtain that one?

the event whith the Collar is so incredibly hot, I can't believe someone gave this game 3* and said "bad animations" this game animations are top tier, it reminds me of Night of revenge a little bit.

Hypnotist enemy grab/hypnotist boss attacking when the stage goes dark
The event for the item to toggle it on/off is the same as the collar.

It's one of the bugs, I forget which. Might've been nose

Man now that's the biggest disappointment for me so far, the end of the story look liked it was leading up to a sequel considering we never really resolved the main issues of the 'bugs' by the end of the game or at least felt like quite a few loose ends still. That and Hachina's design imo is too good to be wasted on such a short game. Given how much I loved Undercrust, I would've been so excited for another game of that quality but with Hachina instead for reasons above

How do you defeat the Hachina Boss Battle? Honestly its like I'm trapped in an endless loop and the shield never goes away. I cannot use my special abilities even when I'm at full blue bars and at her damn feet. What kind of Boss Battle is this where they do not let you play the game?
