Lipucd is never releasing anything ever again, it's bizarre. But it's not like this where the dude is soaking up money and stringing people along... He's stringing people along pretty much for free, so, hard to get too mad. It's just upsetting. I'm SURE dude said he's still working on stuff. but it's been like... 7 years... And he's always said that.
Yeah, unlike Doggie Lipucd has a job outside NSFW stuff, and has said in Discord they wont do Patreon for the foreseeable future.

Yall remember that yakuza substory where the moral of the story was that "its ok to be into abdl or whatever but you should keep that shit to yourself?"
Frankly that moral can apply to all fetishes. If you like a kink or fetish, keep it to yourself and don't proudly speak about it everywhere you go (might sound hypocritical considering the site we're on, but I'd argue it's actually not since this site is tailor made for porn games, and thus is a good place to discuss fetishes). Your Facebook friends don't need to know, your IRL friends don't need to know, and random communities you join online don't need to know (course this doesn't count if these people are also into the thing you're into, but you get the idea I'm trying to convey).

I think its because it (arguably) destroys the game. the devs focused so much on one area that the others are left incomplete, and if you think about it, the new (inferior) combat system really helps on the daycare because the enemies's hitbox are large and long lasting (heh) you rarely get multiple hits in, so the poison effect and emphasis on fierce attacks compliments that zone and only that zone while fucking up more multihit/combo heavy areas (like lab for example)

Fair point! The combat DOES feel a lot better for that area I've noticed compared to the rest of the game. (I generally don't like the new combat system, but that's a pretty popular opinion here anyways gdfjnd) I had just mostly read a lot of the comments on it as "grrr the game has ABDL content thats BAD because I don't LIKE IT!"

Hopefully if the next update comes around, it polishes up the combat system more and finishes up the non-ABDL areas. I REALLY wish I could have more faith in this game getting any updates though :<

My point isn't "ABDL destroyed the US economy" it's that bundling those kinks with the rest has cut a nasty divide in people who support the game, and its sparked some animosity, which you point out correctly. Baaasically, yeah a fetish site like this one is genuinely where that stuff belongs- but you'll always run into fetish turf wars- Not just ABDL!... NTR and Pregnancy, and even just femboy content spark all kinda arguments on this forum. To name examples.

... the combat system before the rework was actualy rather good. simple and effective. the current one is strangled by gimmicks and in general is not fun. rather then a rework i think it should be a revert and they expand on weapons to alter the fighting styles.

my main gripes have been rather consitent, doggiebones has been radio silent to the point i thought they died and we were getting weekends at burnies'd. the other is the heavy focus on the daycare last few updates to the point it feels like thats the main project's focus now.

The combat is more nuanced now atleast. I like that they tried to make it less bland, but the current state is terrible.
  • They need to make it more forgiving to stamina, so you can't spam moves forever but can hit enemies more than twice before depleating it.
  • Giving Invencibility frames to enemies is terrible, specially when they can also use it to grab you. They should be knocked back and stunned while invencible if you care/don't want players to abuse stunlocking them, so players dont end up on top of them tiog et grabbed grab, unless they try to.
The combo stacking and threat level are cool tools to develop the game further (adding special moves or enemies respectively), but that looks like a longshot in the current state of development.

All of this would be a good sign because shows ambition to develop a cool game. Adding cool ideas even if unpolished, would result in more good stuff when they end up being polished. The problem is that looks like it will never reach that state.

the thing is they made the other areas not revolve around the new gimmick in favor of the ABDL area. not only that, but it meant that the other areas would be incomplete, to ironically(kekw i held a grudge from another game from another user onto here, my bad) try to finish a newly incomplete area.
it's come full circle for most of these abandoned games: it's motto >
step 1: make game
2: add definitive kinks
3: focus on a few areas
4: finish a few of those few areas
5: add new non-definitive kinks in an incomplete design
6: add more areas, areas within areas (the "i got greens beans potatoes [...] YOU NAME IT!" treatment)
7: stunt and shun the old areas left that were supposed to be complete in favor of the new area and gimmicks
8: overload yourself with either stress or go radio silent/MIA/Off grid (use DRM for bonus points)
9: profit off of abandoned tag (or don't whatever floats your boat)

The old combat system was fine, its a standard combat platformer, it *should* not need any "nuance" to its combat.
I do agree about the invincibility frames, you already have an "anti stunlock" in the form of stamina. Even so, you are VERY mobile even while attacking and it gives a very fast gameloop and compliments the main meat of the game, the fetishistic animations, so you are not really stuck watching the same futa tanuki if you don't like them.

GIGA-disagree on this one, this is what the cool people in the indie game scene call a "scope creep" which is adding random, pointless and generally unneeded mechanic. No matter how cool it looks, that mechanic might interfere with the current available mechanics. It also burdens the dev as they need more (unnecessary) mechanic to think about when they progress leading to...... abandonment (as we can observe with this game)

Enemies = A singular attack/hit means an immediate grab and/or scene, during which struggling depends on your stamina, that is directly tied to your attacks, jumps and dodges. They each need several hits and even have invincibility frames, each.
Player = haha we can pay money to this npc to increase our damage, or go through tedious combat/pay more money to get a weapon.

Scope creep is definitely a thing, which is why as a dev you have to focus on working on one or a few things at max, at a time.

And the level design is exclusively:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

For the mechanics, you've got:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Then there's also the issue of the dev, rather than actually making new characters, using more and more OCs of his own, or of his friends (like the smelly Fluttershy "OC" that is in the FNAF level, the bar NPCs, etc.).

This is a... bizarre project. Made by observably bizarre people. Don't think anyone would argue with that. The whole "i make games for my spouse" and "its all our OCs, and we use OCs of people in our discord" and yadda yadda- Like- It was cute at first and like *oh, yeah, thats great* right. Now its... Just kinda weird. Like the patreon is less of supporting a project made for your tastes and more like just throwing your money into a gofundme for someone's OC projects.

Finding out this game got abandoned was expected considering the update cycle it had, but still disappointing. Feels like half the stuff that's promising ends up meeting this fate. This, or getting incredibly rare updates that barely add anything while devs get the benefit of people willing to throw them money for mostly just sitting on their ass.
