He hasn't really said anything anywhere. Might be that he wants to finish it or he's just having trouble with some stuff

I want to believe he is focusing on larger wips meaning that he’s locked in. But a part of me thinks his burnout kicked in and that’s why he skipped the biweekly release.

My guess is that he is both locked in and also a little burnt out. We see this at the end of every large project, he talks about being burnt out after the "final push". However I have no doubts though that this project will be finished soon(ish).

He said in a previous update that it should be out this month. Probably putting the final touches in before he releases. I wouldn't worry unless we go the whole month with no updates or release.
