Haven't gotten around to this update yet, nor am I in a rush to waste time seeing the negative response en masse. But last I checked, the only thing Japanese about this VN is the Sakura tree. A Sakura tree that, for all intents and purposes, didn't appear to be in Japan.

It's not just about the white people in Japan (though, if you've ever been, there's not a ton of Americans there. I was there for half a year and only ever ran across four that weren't tourists.), it's about everything not being Japanese. Let's make this basic as possible. Where does the VN take place? Japan. Do we see Japanese architecture? No. Do we see Japanese transportation (trains, subways, etc.)? No. Do we see a single Japanese person? No. In fact, all other ethnic groups make up 1% of Japan's total population. The game takes place in a specific culture and setting, yet everything is the polar opposite of it. How isn't that breaking immersion? But nah, you've gotta make it about race.

Dunning–Kruger is real, apparently.
Yikes. Are you slow? Where did I write two paragraphs about you making it about race? It was a sentence, if you even want to call it that. Let's break this down even further.

I've played more than enough to know that it's hardly accurate to anything Japanese. The quotes you're referring to were simply talking about the broken immersion from so many non-Asians in a game based in JAPAN. As I referred to before, all other ethnic groups in Japan make up 1% of it's population. A fact. Not an opinion, not 'exceptionalism', just facts. Yet all we see are other Americans and/or European looking characters. Speaking as someone's who lived in Japan for an extended time, American people are rare, American FAMILIES are even rarer.

Look at the quotes. All of them mention immersion. All of them mention what as the root? The setting. Because there's literally nothing Japanese about it. There's literally several posts, including the ones you quoted, and probably more. Take a minute and read them, if you can. Then there's that "White Man's burden" line. Where'd you pull that from, a BLM protest? You literally just accused someone of thinking they weren't letting go of their duty to care for their colonial possession, and that's ignoring you assuming everyone who calls out anything is a 'yank'. What would you call that, exactly? That's why I said you made it about race. Poor thing. Take your woke bullshit back to Twitter, at least you'll have other people to be miserable with.

Have a nice day/night, though.
Wasting time is playing your VN. I see lots of argumentative criticisms but your game is a complete mess

Lol, it's definitely not me who is slow here. I'm pointing out the fact that Americans, no matter their worldview, see everything through race lens. Nobody else does it. That's the moronic American view and it's unbearable. Then I pointed out another American quality: thinking that any nation/culture within the Western world should be diverse while anyone else gets patronised by Americans who expect them to stay "pure". That's where the "White Man's burden" comes from.

And you're showing it right here as well. If you were playing a game set in the United States and you'd see a Native American, you wouldn't think the person is out of place despite the fact that Native Americans are 1% of the population of the US. But you see someone that doesn't look Japanese in Japan and you immediately have a problem with immersion because non-Japanese are 1% of the population of Japan so according to you it's unlikely.

By the way, when I saw Paz in this game, I immediately assumed that perhaps she comes for example from Japanese emigrants to Peru or Brazil, so it didn't break my immersion at all. It's much more probable than having a sister who wants to fuck your brains out.

Get a grip.

The flashback made me think I was watching naruto for a second (I hate flashbacks) . My Disappointment Is Immeasurable And My Day Is Ruined.

But for real, I had to do a double take when I read he was in Osaka city; At no point in this game did it hint the setting was in Japan. Glimpsing into the past with Paz was good to build on to her character and partnership with mc, I enjoyed that part however I feel like the Aoi part was just not necessary. I kinda hoped the plot to move forward this update but it's not a major deal.

The first night with Madison, she told the dad bought things from Ginza (a district in Tokyo). I found it odd since everything leads to think the action occurs in the US or at least a western country (real or fictional).

But yeah, weird to set up the story in Japan with no asian characters.

dev, thank you. Your game is beautiful and is the first one that's got me on an emotional level. Especially chapter 1.

This is a really good game. Bugs me, why some can't follow the story...Not a rocket science, really. The writing is really good, if we exclude the "dude" part in dialogue, seems a bit off.

It' s also called ”The entire Western world has to be diverse but god forbid non-Japanese in Japan”. Never let go of that White Man's burden, did you?
I'm not white. I'm not saying there is no foreigner in Japan. I don't wanna explain myself further. If you like the game then good, I'm not trying to attack anyone who does. Good talk tho.

Woah  This game is visually stunning coupled with various visual effects, makes it so much better. I played the compressed version and I am already impressed. I think the musics and sounds are good too (if not great) but they are there unlike most VN games (huge disclaimer I didn't really play with sound:ROFLMAO: but even if I did I am not a good judge for musical score anyway:p). The UI and game mechanics are very intuitive and player friendly and focused. All that being said, the overall game production quality is on the next level, par excellence. Well done, kudos to Qori Gaming.

The narrative (highly subjective) is shrouded in mysteries and can be quite complicated (or even confusing) at times (I have not reached that far only up to the beginning of Chapter 1). The Prologue was really good, especially the earlier part where the flashbacks focused mainly on 2 characters. Towards the end of the Prologue and the rest of Chapter 1 (I guess) it becomes a little bit complicated (and 'chaotic') because it involves so many characters and the player has sort of limited information about anything especially what goes on within the households. More will be revealed later as the game progresses. I can already see that there are multiple routes to choose? but I am still undecided.

I've read some comments about the game settings like the location where the stories took place but it does not bothers me much. I normally think of most (if not all) stories took place in an alternate universe that bears some similarities to our own. Some pointed out that this game take place in Japan and they are probably right. However, I couldn't help but noticed the scene (in Prologue) where MC and his sister, Amber closing in to their residence, the buildings, streets and yellow cab looks somewhat similar to typical New York City apartments outsets depicted in movies:unsure:. Anyway, not a big issue for me, for all I know they are not unique to NYC and similar setup can exist elsewhere.

Alas (as a side note), huge shoutout to Sancho1969 for making a mod for this game, which is another 'plus' reason why I decided to try it in the first place. Using the unobtrusive SanchoMod helps a lot and improve the gameplay experience tremendously (at least for me).

Thank you for the share. Well done, keep up the lewd work, and all the best Qori Gaming. Cheers.

Never thought I would see a reference to the murder of Junko Furuta in a porn game. I dont mind and it doesnt bother me nor do I think its wrong. MC was just referencing to something in real life that drives the point he was making to Nanami home but its just not a reference I would have ever thought I would see lol.

You guys should read up on it. Fucking crazy story.
